The Hanging Bridges Forest Reserve covers an area of 243 hectares (600 acres) of protected forest. This adventure is ideal for those who want to take in the characteristics and beauty of the tropical rainforest on foot. The 3.1 km (2 mi.) circuit trail will cross 15 impressive bridges, some suspended over the forest canopy and others, which are stationary. The bridges have different lengths and altitudes and were designed to offer different perspectives from which to observe the flora and fauna, as you pass through several levels of the forest. From the bridges, you will have views of the treetops making it easier to locate animals and birds. The topography of the terrain is relatively simple with some short slopes, suitable for all ages and ability levels. Some of the animals that we may observe in this type of forest are 3 different species of monkeys, multiple species of birds, snakes, peccaries, and frogs, among others.

While in port on Roatan, take an eco-walk across eight amazing suspension bridges in the Caribbean jungle. This half-day shore excursion includes a one-hour guided nature walk through the forest as you take in gorgeous views of island palms, tropical flowers, ‘Tarzan’ vines, birds and iguanas. The Mistico Hanging Bridges Tour in La Fortuna is an exciting way to experience the lush and diverse rainforest ecosystem. Not far from Valencia we will find one of the most famous areas to visit: the Hanging Bridges of Chulilla! On this hike our steps will take us to Chulilla to walk the famous route. Standing at different viewpoints, the Charco Azul can be seen. We will walk through the spectacular Turia Canyon, to the Loriguilla reservoir. We cross the reservoir along a foresttrack. After the track we continue climbing, until we reach the Vallfigueras ravine. We will arrive at a point where a phyta (pile of stones) indicates the path, which leads us to the prehistoric cave Rock Paintings! From here we continue downhill along the path towards Chulilla and heading towards the Charco Azul. Distance: 15.5 km
