Amedee Island

Discovery Amedee Island. This island is the largest true coral cay on the New Caledonia south lagoon surrounding reef, just 40 mn by water taxi from Noumea. This uninhabited Tropical Island is surrounded by pristine white sands beach. Amedee Island and its magical coral-fringed lagoon is the perfect location to explore New Caledonia's Southern lagoon firsthand. You don't need a deck chair. Swim with the turtles at Amedee Island, and snorkel all year round without stinger suits on this unique, protected reef island. Its lighthouse which you can visit, is now the only metal lighthouse in France. To visit the island and relax, a full day is all you need. This tour is reserved for people under 70 years old and in good physical condition. It's a physically inflatable bumpy boat ride to go to the Island. You will snorkel by your means. No guide, just personal instructions given by the skipper.
