This scenic drive will take you to fishing villages and wild nature areas on Kvaløya Island, along the fjords, and further to an open sea view. Roadtrip is also endless possibility to spot arctic animals. Look around, cause often reindeers hide even between houses. Mooses, sea eagles, seals, otters live just next to the roads, if you know where to look for them.We are always happy to tell you more about norwegian culture and traditions. So you will learn why most of the houses are red and how people lived before in northern Norway.


Tromsø Fjords Tour of Kvaloya and Sommaroy


The tour starts at the meeting point. From there we will drive west, crossing the bridge that connects Tromsø to the island of Kvaløya. During this trip we will cross 3 fjords. And we will drive across the valley of Kattdfjordeidet. There will be short stops to take photos and experiment nature. Sometimes we can see reindeer and other animals roaming free. The destination is Sommarøy, “the Summer Island”. There we will enjoy a warm 2-couse lunch (soup + desert) inside the Sommarøy Arctic Hotel. To return we will take the road on the south-east coast of Kvaløya. During this ride we can enjoy the views of the Sund and the mountains of Malangen. The tour finishes at our original meeting point after approximately 5 hours. In all our tours we accept wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility. We also are prepared to guide people with visual or hearing impairments. And we always work on creating a comfortable experience for neurodivergent people as well.


Sleigh Ride w/ snacks – Experience Arctic Farm Life


A perfect family exursion! Experience the nature and silence surrounded by snow-clad mountains in the valley of Mathisdalen and come join our family at Omdal farm. The sleigh is drawn by the horse breed known from the Disney movie "Frozen". The sheep you will meet, have the opportunity to be outside all year long, and in the summertime they lives side by side to the reindeer up in the mountains. After the ride, you can warm up in our Sami tent, called a lavvo, where we serve coffee/tea/pastry/cured meats.


Ice Fishing On The Fjord


Ice Fishing on the fjord, starts at the pick-up point in Tromsø. From there we will drive you to the spot and walk down to the frozen sea. On this trip you will get a unique opportunity to catch your own fish. After the fishing trip we will drive to the basecamp and prepare the Fish in Norwegian style. If we catch any fish you will learn how to prepare and cook it. There will be told local stories and you can relax in the middle of the arctic wilderness. . When you have learned about our local history and are well rested, we will drive you back to the pick-up point i Tromsø.
