Night Walk Around The Arenal Volcano


We are the only company that does the night hike inside the Rainforest at the base of Arenal Volcano, we are also the only company to be Family & Kids Friendly. Our tour will take you to know the wonderful night secrets of the rainforest accompanied by a Naturalist Guide. We will visit the trails of one of the best areas of La Fortuna for the observation of the local flora and fauna at the foot of the Arenal Volcano, Senderos and Mirador El Silencio. We will go into the forest in search of the hourglass frog, the Blue Jeans frog, the largest frog in the country, the “Chicken Eating Frog” and the most beautiful in Costa Rica, the red-eyed tree frog. Also in this place it is possible to observe some species of leaf insects, stick insects, snakes, such as the tab viper, snails, Velvets, Stone Hand Viper and coral snakes, some mammals such as sloths, possums and anteaters.


Arenal Hanging Bridges in Mistico Park


This is one of the most beautiful environmental projects in Costa Rica, Arenal Hanging Bridges is a combination of trails and hanging bridges situated near Volcano Arenal. This nature preserve shelters a great variety of flora and fauna including many native and migratory birds. These 3.1 kilometers of trails include views of Arenal Volcano, crossing of 14 bridges (6 are hanging bridges), and an opportunity to appreciate the great diversity that is typical of the rain-forest. With our local experts guides we will try to find animals around the paths and explain about their environment.

All the route is made on a private cattle farm on the slopes of the Volcano passing through pristine creeks along lush primary forest and pasture land where is posible observe herds of sheep, horses and cattle.! The tour takes average 2:30 hours and goes from the lowest to the highest part of the property to a point of view very close to the Volcano Where is posible observe the whole volcano building from base to the top and make wonderful pictures.! Arenal Original ATV Tour


Our adventure begins at the private farm La Naciente, just minutes from La Fortuna downtown. Here, we’ll set off on muddy trails through the primary rainforest, immersing in Costa Rican culture, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the majestic Arenal Volcano. We start with a safety briefing and a practice circuit to get comfortable with the ATVs. Then, we head out onto the crazy trails of La Naciente, driving through challenging paths surrounded by lush vegetation and local wildlife. Along the way, we stop at Quebrada Platanillo, a micro-basin of the Arenal River that supplies water to nearby communities. This is also where we can spot the impressive Watusi bulls, famous for their distinctive horns. Next, we visit the picturesque village of La Guaria which keeps the “fortuneños” culture, where we explore its church and its old local store (pulpería), offering a glimpse into life in rural communities.


Arenal Volcano Expedition from Arenal


We begin the tour by heading to the El Silencio Private Reserve, to get as close to the base of the volcano as possible by vehicle. Next, we will walk approximately 1.5 kilometer along a volcanic stone path with a moderate degree of difficulty, until we reach the viewpoint, the closest point to volcano permitted to access. At the viewpoint, our guide will provide relevant information on the formation of the Arenal Volcano, its periods of activity, as well as unpublished details of its first eruption in 1968. You can also enjoy the excellent views of the Green Lagoon and Lake Arenal. On the guide’s indication, we will begin our descent back.


Arenal Hanging Bridges From Arenal


The Hanging Bridges Forest Reserve covers an area of 243 hectares (600 acres) of protected forest. This adventure is ideal for those who want to take in the characteristics and beauty of the tropical rainforest on foot. The 3.1 km (2 mi.) circuit trail will cross 15 impressive bridges, some suspended over the forest canopy and others, which are stationary. The bridges have different lengths and altitudes and were designed to offer different perspectives from which to observe the flora and fauna, as you pass through several levels of the forest. From the bridges, you will have views of the treetops making it easier to locate animals and birds. The topography of the terrain is relatively simple with some short slopes, suitable for all ages and ability levels. Some of the animals that we may observe in this type of forest are 3 different species of monkeys, multiple species of birds, snakes, peccaries, and frogs, among others.

You will set out on your kayak for about 2 hours exploring the lake shore and it islands in quest for local birds such as; Ospreys, Kingfishers, Neotropical Cormorants, Aningas and mammals such as; howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white-nosed coatis or sloths. Once you are finished kayaking you will relax lakeside and enjoy a light picnic before setting out on your mountain biking adventure through natural paths, traditional Costa Rican neighborhoods and small rivers
