This boat trip provides the best way to see the famous Asseteague Island wild ponies. On this 2.5 hour trip that will depart from the Ocean Pines Yacht Club we'll travel down the Assawoman Bay to Assateague Island. Children and Adults interested in nature and experiencing the beauty of the Bay will enjoy this trip. The trip provides something different to do while visiting Ocean City. Once the boat reaches Assateague Island, the captain will navigate around the backside of the island so you can see the wild ponies up close along with other wildlife including dolphins. This is one of the most popular boat trips in Ocean City, MD.

Are you a morning person? If so, join us at our West OC location for a great morning wake-up! By partnering with the One Love Smoothie Café, we’ll serve you up a 90 minute morning cruise that will rejuvenate you and prepare you for a full day in OC! (Coffee and Smoothies cost separate, and are selected during trip purchase) With your coffee and/or smoothie in hand, the OC Bay Hopper will head out to tour Ocean City’s commercial harbor and on to beautiful Assateague Island! Get ready to see the wild Assateague ponies and enjoy the beauty of Assawoman Bay. This trips agenda is simple – you will place your food order before the trip begins. You will be informed how to do this. On the day of the trip you will board the boat, meet your captain and the boat will leave the West OC Harbor. You'll then head to Assateague Island where you will see the famous wild ponies while staying on the boat and enjoying your smoothie and coffee.

This grand kayaking adventure will take you to the most remote areas of Assateague Island. Most days we encounter the wild Chincoteague ponies grazing along the marshlands, but always remember these are wild animals and some times you see them and some times you don't. We know all the best locations to view the ponies so we do get to see them 75% of the time. We will also get the chance for some great photo opportunities of the Assateague Lighthouse, one of the oldest running lighthouses in the country. We might even get to see a few of the unique and rare birds migrating through Assateague Island.

Renting bicycles at Assateague Island National Seashore is one of the best ways to get to know the Island and it's inhabitants. Protected bike paths line the road, about 6 miles in total. Riding a bike through the National Seashore is one of the best ways to experience all Assateague has to offer; secluded beaches, marsh overlooks, wild horses and a plethora of birds. There is no entrance fee for the National Park when entering on a bicycle.

Looking for a fun way to get up close and personal with Assateague Island's wild ponies? Then hop aboard the Assateague Island Swim Cruise, where you'll have the chance to see these majestic creatures in all their glory – from a safe distance, of course! But the real highlight of this 3-hour excursion is the opportunity to take a dip in the calm, shallow waters behind the island. Just be sure to keep an eye out for any curious ponies who might be tempted to join you for a swim! This adventure takes place every Tuesday from 12pm to 3pm, departing from the OC Bay Hopper North OC location at 118th street in Ocean City. We prioritize finding horses on this tour, but it doesn't always happen, let's say 80/20 in favor of seeing the horses. They are wild animals and are always on the move while grazing, but we scout early and often to give you the best chance. However, there are hundreds of other amazing native species we may discover on the tour, and we think you, and definitely your kids, will still have a blast.
