You will learn about local fruits, vegetables, and herbs and procure the freshest ingredients you need for the day's lesson. Returning to our kitchen, our experienced chef will guide you through tried-and-true Khmer cooking techniques. Unlock ancient secrets of Khmer cooking through this authentic culinary experience. After the demonstration and with our chef's assistance, you will discover new tastes and textures as you learn to prepare traditional dishes, which will be enjoyed for lunch. Explore the peaceful countryside of Phnom Penh by bicycle where you’ll encounter experience with the real life of local people, mango plantations, lemongrass farms, Khmer sedge mat weaving village and silk weaving workshop of the Mekong River. This moderate biking adventure is for those who love cycling and able to manage from 25km to 30km distance through the flat terrains of the Mekong Island. After we cycle through the countryside, farmland and paddy rice field plus the natural lake that included the lotus farm, we continue to the handicraft village where you’ll learn more about Khmer silk weaving and enjoy the local lunch with them. While I am young I confused that Amok original recipe belong to Thailand this confused me about 20 year, after coming in to the food class I am realized that it is 100% belong to Cambodia and it is a sign of our culture. So I am delighted to choose this menu for my class to spread out this secret of recipe. Thai Amok and Khmer Amok is a bit similar but Cambodia have its own taste signature.
