Our Plantation tour gives insight about Coffee cultivation and traces the process of the coffee bean from, plantation to cup. The tour starts with short walk through the plantation. Along this trail, visitors learn about the growth of coffee plants, from seedlings in nurseries to the time they are planted and picked in the plantations. The tour ends with visit to the host’s house and learns about various blends and tasting the flavors of Coffee, Coorg has to offer. The tour is conducted by local farmer who has experience in cultivation for more than 20 years.

The coffee tasting activity offers a complete experience where you taste different types of coffee and learn about the amount of caffeine in each type and how the grind affects its preparation and flavor. It teaches you how to prepare different varieties of coffee, such as Turkish, V60, espresso and machine coffee. Additionally, a special pairing is offered with artisanal chocolates, rum and ice cream to discover how these flavors complement and enhance those of coffee. During your session you will learn everything from how specialty coffee is harvested to how it is grown in the Dominican mountains. After going through all the harvesting processes, you will learn more on how we roast our coffee and also be able to witness a small batch of coffee roasting. Coffee was discovered in Ethiopia by a goat who always admired the sweet sap of the coffee juice inside the coffee skin. After its discovery, people started eating the fruits mainly during famine and leisure not until the coming of missionaries and the Indian merchants who introduced the commercialization of coffee. The missionaries used to normally send coffee to their relatives as gifts. Coffee tour experience done in the village setting gives you a great taste of a true finest Ugandan coffee made by you in an organic process which involves pounding dry coffee beans using a wooden mortar to remove the husks and later roast them in fire using a dry saucepan with little firewood.
