We propose to spend a day with us in a small friendly group to discover a beautiful nature, endemic flora and fauna and the amazing environment of Mount Etna. We will pick you up in the morning in the certain meeting point (8.30 piazza Stesicoro 32, Catania or 9.15 piazza S.Alfio in Trecastagni – PLEASE SPECIFY WHERE). On the way to Etna we will stop on a village for a coffee break and to buy food for the lunch time. We will drive to reach the altitude of 2.000 above sea level. At this altitude we will start our moderate hike off the beaten tracks (approx. 3 hours) to admire the fascinating landscape of the Valle del Bove, the biggest caldera of Mount Etna and its moon like deserts. From there we will enjoy breathtaking views of the summit craters and the surrounding landscapes facing the Ionian Sea. A trek that allows us to climb to the top of the The highest active volcano in Europe and to listen to the breath of a living mountain. The ascent is carried out by cable car and 4 × 4 minibuses up to an altitude of 2900m in the area of Torre del Filosofo, from here after about 1.5h of uphill walking you will arrive on the edge of the central crater from which you can observe the Bocca Nuova (3250m ), which opened in 1968, probably the most impressive crater. The itinerary could change due to the activity of the volcano or weather conditions

Each excursion is carried out in compliance with the levels of volcanic risk. After the meeting and departure from Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza (Etna Sud), with the cable car and 4×4 jeep you reach an altitude of 2,800 meters and from here in about 2 hours of walking through lava flows and environments looking lunar, you reach the Etna Summit Craters at 3340mt. Here we will walk on the spectacular rim of the Central Crater, we will face the dizzying Northeast Crater and we will see at our side the famous Southeast Crater, author of the most recent and impressive eruptions. In addition to the vastness of the summit craters, you will admire a unique volcanic environment, with gas emissions, volcanic bombs and the sparkling colors of the ground thanks to the sublimation of various elements, including sulfur in particular. During the descent we will visit the craters of Barbagallo and cross a lava channel. Once again at 2500 m with the Etna cable car we will return to the starting point.

The route is a valid alternative to the top craters, and is among the most complete and fascinating that can be offered on the volcano, suitable for those who want to walk among craters, fractures in the ground, lava flows and visit exceptional volcanic supply ducts, where a time the molten magmatic mass boiled.The trekking of great volcanological interest, involves the ascent on special 4×4 vehicles from an altitude of 1800 meters to an altitude of 2800 meters (for a total of 8 km of road) accompanied by your volcanological guide who will begin the explanations on board.During the journey you will visit the fracture called (Rift) of the north side of Etna, you will enter with your protective helmets inside the chimney of a perfectly intact volcanic cone, you will visit the mouths that have produced the lava flows. The excursion will continue, on the edge of large craters, through descents composed of slopes of volcanic ash, among the craters generated by innumerable lateral eruptions.

Starting from Catania, one our guide will lead you along a beautiful naturalistic path, while explaining the origins of our Volcano. At 2000 mt you will catch cable car to reach 2500 mt and then on a 4×4 vehicle you will go up 2950 mt. Alpine guides will show you the beautiful landscape of the base of the summit craters seeing at 1 km of distance the main crater. Please note that the cost of the cable car and 4×4 ticket is not included in the tour price,you will pay them to the guide directly on the day of the tour (70€). * In winter time, in case the trails are covered by a thick layer of snow (usually from January to March), part of the excursion will take place using snowshoes and sticks. It could be possible that you will go on the snow cat vehicle with an extra cost of 30 euro per person. Then, join with us the visit of a cave of volcanic origins with all the equipment provided by us. At lunchtime enjoy an outdoor picnic made of Sicilian typical street food, water, and local wine.

Starting from Piano Provenzana 1800masl (Etna Nord), the unique slope that currently allows the climb to the summit in safe conditions, with special 4×4 we will arrive to 2825masl (Piano delle Concazze.) From here begins the ascent of about 2h to the main crater rim at an altitude of 3.320masl. You will walk on the edge of the Central Crater, Northeast Crater and we will admire the famous Southeast Crater, author of the most recent and impressive eruptions. You will surrounded by a unique volcanic environment, with gas emissions, volcanic bombs, and the sparkling colors of the ground due to the sublimation of various elements, including sulfur in particular. After the visit at the top, the panoramic path of descent characterized by fine volcanic ash and scorie, will give us a unforgettable view of Sicily coast During the hike the guide will explain the history, the formation and the peculiarities of the volcano. The quad tour lasts 2 hours. During the journey you will cross an eruptive fracture, driving the quads between long fields of lava and black volcanic sand you will admire explosive craters and discover one of the many beauties that distinguish Etna: a lava flow cave. You will then stop to visit some typical buildings of the area, similar to Sardinian nuraghi or Apulian trulli. Continuing along the route you will cross the Etna broom forest, you will descend along lava flow channels, passing between lunar landscapes and "dagale", wooded islands surrounded by petrified lava. You will cross a forest of Etna pine trees, following the bed of a dry stream, where the landscape is characterized by the alternation of lava and woods. You will then return to the starting point and finish the quad tour. Two people can ride on each quad (the second passenger does not pay). Driving license B mandatory.
