You will choose your favorite kimono and hakama, change into a samurai costume, and learn how to use a sword from a samurai. You will learn how to draw a sword, hold a sword, swing a sword, and retract a sword. After learning basic sword usage, they practice a simple chambara (sword fight). Then we will try to exterminate bad guys to the music! You can take videos with your smart phone, take pictures with the samurai, and have a great samurai time. If you are going to try on a kimono, we recommend using the photo plan. A professional photographer who is familiar with the nearby locations will accompany you and take wonderful portraits. I offer a family-hosted cultural workshop in Tokyo, teaching traditional Japanese crafts with my child. As a former elementary school teacher and experienced workshop leader, I’ve taught calligraphy and art in schools and family events. It is a valuable experience to be able to see serious training right in front of you and can feel the breath and heat up close, which you can't feel in a big game. What is happening is we will provide live commentary using our original documents! You can see it closer than the matches and you will feel the sound of the fight and the passion of the wrestlers. After training, you can take photos with wrestlers. Sumo wrestling matches are held far away many times a year. In addition, there are other training camps, so the time I'm in Tokyo is less. Date requests are not accepted. Participating in this is not easy. It is even more difficult for foreign visitors to Japan. Please join us for this experience!

Experience Mikoshi Parade in Kichijoji, Tokyo! On September 13 and 14, the “Kichijoji Autumn Festival” is held. It’s a great opportunity to experience a traditional festival featuring the parade of Mikoshi portable shrines. You’ll watch as many as 11 Mikoshi, one from Musashino Hachimangu Shrine and 10 from each district of the town. Every Mikoshi group has its own distinctive style of carrying and shouting. At the highlight, all Mikoshi gather and demonstrate their performances. Join this tour and your guide will tell you all about this festival and show you around the town which is full of festival atmosphere. Begin your experience with a short introductory video highlighting the history of Japanese calligraphy, followed by a guided tutorial covering the basics of brushwork and kanji writing. You'll first practice writing your name in Japanese—or select your favorite kanji character—on authentic washi paper. Then, for your final product, you'll be able to write your name or character directly onto a traditional paper kite or a paper fan, creating a personalized souvenir to bring home with you.
