We have moved to a new location! We are now located at 820 Olowalu Village Rd, next to the Olowalu General Store on the way to Lahaina! We are the oldest butterfly farm in Hawaii and the only one that offers private tours of a butterfly farm in the State. We are a certified Monarch Waystation and strive to save the butterflies through propagation, research and education. We’re the only place in the Islands to see live Hawaiian butterflies in our walk in butterfly flight house. Unlike Mainland butterfly farms, all of our butterflies are home bred and hand raised on our organic farm. We do not purchase or ship in our butterflies from abroad, therefore all of our butterflies are endemic to Hawaii.

What sets our tour apart is the rare opportunity to step into a real, working alpaca and llama farm — not just observe from a distance. Located in beautiful Bozeman, Montana, our one-hour+, hands-on experience invites guests of all ages and abilities to connect with animals in a meaningful, memorable way. Unlike standard petting zoos or walk-through tours, you’ll feed treats, learn how to halter and handle alpacas, give them baths on warm days, and — depending on the season — meet baby alpacas (called crias) and their moms. Given every half hour, our guided tours are both informative and interactive. A knowledgeable guide will first introduce the adult emus and ostriches. You will learn about the ostrich's amazing speed as well as other defense mechanisms it uses against predators. Mating, rearing, and feeding habits will both surprise and amuse you. You will even have the opportunity to hand-feed the not-so-shy creatures. Just watch out! Ostriches are ALWAYS hungry, and if you have food in your hands, you may quickly find yourself surrounded by a herd of curious critters.

The PistachioLand tour offers a ride on a 14 passenger electric vehicle through the pistachio orchards and vineyards. This is a working farm where pistachios and wine grapes are produced, and wine and candy is also produced on-site. Free samples of nuts and wine are available in the gift shop. Although you can walk-in to purchase a $2 ticket, booking guarantees a seat unless canceled for weather. Risks: Open air vehicle exposed to weather, wildlife and farm operations. Tour vehicle travels on a bumpy, gravel road. Pets are not allowed on tour due to insurance requirements. Waivers required from each guest. Best Place Farms is home to KuneKune's, pronounced “kooney kooney”, a rare breed of pig that nearly went extinct in the 1970's. A super way to find out more about Errichel's ethically-reared animals and its 'slow food' ethos, you will meet and feed Large Black Pigs, Rare-breed Sheep (bottle-feed lambs in season), Shetland Cattle, Highland Ponies, an assortment of Chickens, and many ducks! The tour is totally unique in our area, and takes place on our beautifully scenic Hill-farm near the picturesque town of Aberfeldy. Also onsite are our Deli, where you can purchase farm produce, foodie treats, and ice creams, and our Bistro, where you can enjoy brunch, lunch, or just coffee and cake. Our Farm Tour & Feed Round takes place at 10am on Fridays and Saturdays and lasts about an hour. Booking by 4pm the day before your tour is required.
