This 6-hour cruise explores Kenai Fjords National Park and visits an actively calving tidewater glacier in beautiful Aialik Bay. We'll first visit the Steindalsfossen waterfalls, allowing you to experience the unique thrill of walking behind a waterfall. Next, enjoy stunning fjord views during the 20-minute ferry crossing. The tour's highlights start with an easy hike through the National Park during which you will be surrounded by natural beauty, from lush greenery and boulders to clear glacier waters. Arriving at glacier lake Bondhusvatnet, you can relax, shoot pictures, or enjoy the snacks you brought. The return journey includes another ferry ride, showcasing another part of the Hardangerfjord, followed by a bus ride through the countryside of Vestland, in which we will make multiple photo stops. Estimated time on the bus is 4.5 hours. The rest of the time is spent at multiple stops, the ferry, and the hike.

Meet at Glacier Guides & Montana Raft at 9:30am to meet your guide and go over a brief orientation. Once in Glacier, you'll get to explore Glacier's natural wonders on a guided adventure! Start with a 1-mile round trip walk through Lake McDonald Valley, admiring its glaciated beauty and resident wildlife. Then, venture to the North Fork Valley with scenic stops en route. Take another 1-mile round trip walk along the Wild and Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River, learning about the environment and its history. The Excursion begins when we pick you up in our minibus with its driver and a professional tour guide, to go to Los Glaciares National Park. In a journey of almost 80 km until we reach the park, we will enjoy the beautiful landscape of Patagonia that paints us with mountains, lakes and forests. Already in Los Glaciars National Park, you will observe the most characteristic species of the Patagonian forests. We will arrive at the walkways of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where we can walk up to 5.5km of walkways at different levels and locations that will give us a unique perspective of all angles of the blue and white majesty of the Glacier. We will have time to have lunch at one of the restaurants located in the park. Finally, late in the afternoon, we will return to El Calafate.

After lunch, explore 9 named rapids – typically rated class II and III. Bonecrusher is always a favorite! This is a fun and splashy adventure through pristine, glacially fed waters. Finally, float beneath Glacier’s historic Old Belton Bridge. Your adventure ends in West Glacier with a 5 minute bus ride back to our campus. Trips depart rain or shine. Trips meet at 9:15am, 9:45am departure. No experience necessary. No maximum weight – must be able to buckle a 58" chest life jacket. Minimum age 5, minimum weight of 50 pounds. Minimums may be higher if river levels are higher, as they often are in the spring.

We will try to time the visit to the ice cave well, giving you more time to enjoy the amazing wild nature around the glacier.
