Explore Laguna Grande by kayaking through an enchanting mangrove forest, where you'll witness the natural wonder of bioluminescence, a radiant light created by the tiny organism Pyrodinium bahamense. Keep in mind that bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon with varying brightness. *When needed, a tarp is used to minimize light from the moon or artificial sources as an extra step to help better appreciate the bioluminescence. Sargassum, a harmless seaweed found in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, often lands on our shores and occasionally emits a scent. All odd-numbered groups or solo kayakers will be paired up during the tour. You will get wet! Dress accordingly. During peak season, high visitor volumes and tour companies may require shifts to enter/exit the lagoon, causing occasional light bumps between kayaks. Our experienced guides ensure safety and enjoyment.

This is a once in a life-time experience and different from any other Glowworm Tour you'll go on! Our adventure begins late afternoon / early evening at Riverside Adventures' base in South Waikato. Paddle along the southern edge of Lake Karapiro, over the old submerged Horahora Dam that produced electricity for the early Waihi goldfields. Learn the history of the Horahora village and enjoy the twilight & silence of being on the water as the day draws to an end. As night arrives over the lake , paddle slowly up the Pokaiwhenua Stream and through the canyon carved out by water over many hundreds of years. Native ferns & trees drape over you, bird life is all around. When darkness falls we float silently back downstream, being guided by the glow worms on either side sparkling like Christmas lights.

Rental include a board, leash, life vest, paddle and brief overview by an instructor on how to safely navigate your board.

Night kayaking is a rare and exhilarating opportunity that allows you to explore the waters in a different light. When it comes to kayaking in Anguilla, the experience becomes even more special and unique. The island of Anguilla boasts some of the most pristine waters in the Caribbean, which makes for perfect kayaking conditions. As you paddle through the dark waters, you’ll be surrounded by the gentle glow of phosphorescence, which will illuminate your path, adding an extra layer of magic to the experience.

Our guests meet us at our shop called The BoatDega. This tour takes place along the calm canals in Treasure Island. We paddle at a slow pace. We have free parking and restrooms. We launch on the floating dock behind the shop. Each of our kayaks are double kayaks. If we have an odd number of guests, we can take one seat out of the double kayaks to make it a single seater. Otherwise you will be paddling in a double kayak. Step inside your crystal clear kayak equipped with LED's a bit before sunset and paddle into the darkness. Your tour guide will take you along the canals. Enjoy the ambiance. It's cool, calm, and quiet. The stars and the moon create a canvas in the sky, and the lights colorfully illuminate the water below. This event requires a minimum number travelers. We offer two tour times each evening to explore the beauty and nature of Indian River Lagoon as we paddle and observe bioluminescent Comb Jellyfish. Watch as the lagoon comes alive with some of nature's most interesting wildlife. The bioluminescent comb jellies do not sting and they are fascinating to watch. We also regularly see dolphins, manatees, rays, horseshoe crabs and more! We use our super bright led lighting systems to illuminate the water below so you can see fish and other wildlife below. Sunset – Beach your vessel and explore the island while enjoying a beautiful sunset. Walk out on the sandbar with small nets and search for the comb jellyfish, horseshoe crabs, fish, and rays. Paddle into the night while the LED systems illuminate the water below. Bioluminescence & Stargazing – launch into the night as the stars shine bright above. Search for bioluminescent comb jellyfish and other interesting wildlife. Our super bright led lighting systems illuminate the water below.

We’ve been tracking and monitoring a thriving colony of bush glow worms for a while now and they are magnificent, strange and magical all at the same time! Our unique species of glow worm lights up after dark like the stars to attract it's prey, it's very special. The atmosphere is pretty electric in there as we first allow our eyes become accustomed to the dark before we walk past and hear running water close by and then it's just us, and the glow worms. The luminescent larval is endemic to these shores, so it's a one off for most at a very cool piece of native forest. This local bush reserve is to remain a secret, phones are turned off. You may even be asked to wear a blind fold on route. This is an exceptionally sensitive area. Thanks for your help preserving this. This is an easy flat bush walk, you will not be on a boat

One kayak accommodates TWO people. This is an experience unlike anything else. Experience crystal clear kayaks and paddleboards with led and solar lights. The kayaks and SUPS are lit up in many different colors. Some times you will see fish, stingrays and if you are lucky, maybe a DOLPHIN! We offer daytime sessions and evening sessions. We also do mermaid paddle on Saturdays. This is a special experience that you will remember forever.
