Starting with a visit to our historic Aso Shrine, which has a history of more than 2000 years, you can discover the Japanese way of praying. Your guide will then take you to visit the adjacent Monzenmachi, one of the oldest streets in Aso; where many stores are lined up. You'll get to try out the mineral water springs and stroll along the tree covered avenue. After our lunch, we will visit the top of Mount Aso, where you can feel the breath of the earth. It is a real treat to experience our living earth, and how locals link their religion with the surrounding nature.

Framed by soaring highlands on its northern boundary, the Udawalawe National Park is one of the world's best places to see wild elephants. Largely comprised of grasslands and bush forest, it's also one of the best national parks in Sri Lanka for game spotting.

On this tour, with special permission, we will take you to a special outdoor bar in the "Millennium Grassland" with no artificial light. Transportation to and from your hotel or guesthouse in Aso City is also included, so you don't have to worry about transportation. Depending on the weather, you can enjoy a starry sky at the Millennium Grassland. Our guide, who is knowledgeable about the starry skies of Japan's four seasons, will quietly introduce you to the constellations. Of course, quiet time is also available. While looking at the starlight that was emitted hundreds of thousands of years ago, before the Aso Caldera was formed, please think about the eternal past. Horton Plains is a national park in the central highlands of Sri Lanka in an elevation of 2100-2300m (6900-7500ft) and encompasses montane grassland and cloud forest. It is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. This is also a popular tourist destination. You will enjoy 2-3 hours of walk to experience all these beauties. The Horton plains are the head waters of three major Sri Lankan rivers; the Mahaweli, Kelani and Walawe. The plains' vegetation is grasslands interspersed with montane forests and includes many endemic woody plants. Large herds of Sri Lankan sambar deer feature as typical mammals and the park is also as important for many species of birds not only endemic to Sri Lanka but restricted to Horton plains. The sheer precipice of world's end and Baker's falls are among the tourist attractions of the park.

After meeting at the entrance of Aso Station, we start the tour with an introduction to Mt. Aso and our grasslands. Then, on to the gear: we’ll take our bicycles for a test before going our way. Beginners are welcome too, must you need help for the bicycle’s use, your guide will explain everything. No need for extreme bicycling skills, as they are electrically assisted! From the bottom of the caldera at Aso Station, at about 500 meter above sea level, to the Aso Nakadake crater (elevation 1,300m), there is an elevation difference of 800m. (2600ft) You then get to enjoy the best views of the mount Aso crater. Going back down, the caldera opens up in front of you. Aso's magnificent nature awaits you here. We’ll end our tour at the entrance of JR Aso Stn, unless you booked a ride to your accommodation. We can also guide you to a hot spring after the tour to unwind and relax in the caldera. *You can leave your luggage with us, so you can enjoy the grasslands of Aso at ease.

If you are looking to see a manatee in a kayak this is best location and the best chance to see the elusive manatee in a kayak. Sajek valey is known for its natural atmosphere, and is enclosed by mountains, dense forest, and grasslands hill tracks. Several little rivers flow through the mountains among that Kachalong and Machalong are notable. On the thanks to Sajek valey, one needs to cross the Mayni vary and Mayni watercourse. The road to Sajek has high picks and falls.

This guided tour and lunch experience lets you discover the secrets of the beautiful Yufudake landscape. In order to control pests, preserve the landscape and encourage the growth of new shoots, wild burning is carried out around March on Mt Yufudake. Experienced pastoral cooperatives set fire to dead awn and other plants, and the entire area is covered in black after the burning. Afterwards, flowers and grasses sprout, and by early May the landscape of fresh green Mt Yubudake can be seen. The landscape changes throughout the year, with greenery covering the area in summer and golden awns shining in autumn and winter. This unique landscape and ecosystem is maintained by the local pastoral cooperative and volunteers who burn the fields. A minimum of 4 people is required to book this tour.
