Sundays – As of April 2025 the army is trialing a slight variation of the usual ceremony on Sundays. It involves the same number of guard movements and locations but is referred to as a Parade rather than a Change. There is currently no indication of how long this trial will go on for.

See Copenhagen’s top sights with a local guide, a 5 km walk, and a ferry ride through the historic harbor. We begin with a 2 km walk featuring big highlights and hidden gems. Then we board the electric public ferry for a 25-minute cruise — your guide shares stories and points out landmarks. After the ride, we continue past the Citadel and the Little Mermaid. Before reaching Amalienborg Palace, we pause for a short café break to recharge. The 9:00 AM tour ends with the full Changing of the Guards. Your guide will do their best to secure a great spot. The 1:00 PM tour ends with a smaller version of the ceremony at the castle. Should the ferry be full or not in service — a rare situation, mostly on weekends — we follow the scenic walking route along the canal instead, still covering the full itinerary (adds 2 km).
