Ojai has a 100-year history of ceramics. Our studio, located a mile from the city center, is surrounded by nature, in the midst of a fruit orchard. We are a working studio for many of the great artists in the Ojai Valley. Visitors may watch potters work, and may "try their hand" at a range of techniques. After making their pottery, they may may pay a small fee for our staff to trim, glaze and high-fire the work. This "finishing" work takes about 3 weeks. Visitors may also come back to glaze their OWN work. There is no charge for this. AND we will even ship your pieces anywhere in the country…

Why should you take a pottery class? 1. Lessons will be taught 100% on an electric pottery wheel, so that it is easier, faster, and less tiring to learn. (Each person will be assigned their own wheel) 2. Located in the heart of Ha Noi’s Old Quarter, you can learn pottery, try Vietnamese coffee and food, and visit Ho Guom Lake. No need to go all the way to the Bat Trang village that is located 15km out of Ha Noi. 3. A professional potter will guide you along the way, ensuring that your ceramic pieces will come out beautiful. 4. There is no limit on how many pieces and designs you can make. 5. You can take a piece of your choice home as a souvenir, with your choice of enamel color. 6. Pick up and take the products you’ve made home in 1day later. 7. Like all the Cycladic residents, inhabitants of Kythnos are familiar with the use of clay since ancient years. Clay has been widely used from the construction of cooking vessels to beehives. The art of pottery was significantly developed in Kythnos in comparison with other Cycladic islands, due to clay’s sufficiency in Kythnos land. As a matter of fact, Kythnos is the only place in Cyclades where visitors will see the signature hand-made clay roof tiles, as a proof of the special connection among the residents with craftsmanship! Pottery lessons take place in the heart of Chora village, delivered by the oldest potter of the sland! TOUR PROGRAM: – 8a.m Pick up from your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang city – First stop is Thanh Ha Pottery Village where we will visit a family that has been living in the same house for 5 generations and learn how to make pottery with them. Take a short ride to another artisan family to watch how they make rice paper and noodles. You will learn how to make one yourself and enjoy eating it. Then. you go to the Kim Bong carpenters village. Here, you'll be introduced the history of the village and local activities, be able to visit the shipbuilding & repairing workshop, the wood carving and mother of pearl inlaid .You will see how to make the traditional wooden boats that move along the rivers. We will then stop at another family who specialize in making sleeping mats from reeds. Sleeping mats were a household essential for every Vietnamese family,especially during 20th century. Enjoy lunch with Local Noodle at local restaurant and then return to your hotel Drop-off: 12:00
