This excursion is ideal for adventurers and mountain lovers. Many people travel to Cape Verde and come to the island of Fogo especially to climb the majestic volcano "Pico de Fogo". This ascent allows you to reach… the highest point in Cape Verde! This magnificent volcano still in activity rises to 2829 meters above sea level. The level of difficulty of this climb is difficult. You need to be in good physical condition. You will be accompanied by an experienced local mountain guide. In terms of sensations, the climb can be a challenge for some. But be aware that a great reward awaits you at the top: total tranquility and a spectacular panoramic view. The descent of the volcano on the volcanic ash is very pleasant and jovial. This walk starts at Pico do Areeiro, at approximately 1818 meters above sea level and we make our way to the highest point of Madeira, Pico Ruivo, around 1861 meters. It is possible to witness panoramic views of Madeira over the central mountain range that are absolutely breathtaking. This is the only known breeding site in the world of Zino’s petrel (Pterodroma madeira), an endemic species considered to be the most endangered seabird of Europe. In this area, the vegetation of altitude is predominant, mainly of Centenary endemic Urzes; these large trees predate Madeira’s discovery. To reach Pico Ruivo, we must go around Pico das Torres up a steep incline of steps carved in the rock and then descend, the most difficult part of this trail being the final climb to the Shelter at Pico Ruivo. But the thought of reaching the highest point of the island is a driving force. Near the Pico Ruivo shelter, we take footpath, which leads to Achada do Teixeira, where we finish our journey.

Pico da Tijuca is the perfect adventure-hike in Tijuca Forest. Involving history, beauty and the inside of Tijuca Forest you'll visit the park museum and a waterfall.

Two in one: Sunrise and Hike. It is an excursion that includes the sunrise, (optional) and a walk between the peaks (Areeiro to Ruivo), then we walk another 2.5 km to Achada do Teixeira where we will take the transfer, in a total of 10 km. With the particularity of starting early before large groups, so it is a quiet walk with few people on the trail, the best way to calmly observe all the natural beauty of this route, fauna and flora, central mountain massif, history and customs, and much more . Private groups up to 4 people. Included; Certified mountain guide, insurance, transport and Turismo de Portugal License 467/22. It usually starts at 06:00 am, if the option is just to do the walk without sunrise, it starts at 08:30 am.
