Charleston History and Hops Tour: Bar and History Walk


Come live the Local Life with Captain Bryan or Guide Adam Moore! This experience is for guests who enjoy sipping their way through a new city full of history. This is not a classic "sit there and shut up tour" but an opportunity to engage with a local. The licensed guide will meet guests at the initial bar establishment and receive a small complimentary snack and the opportunity to purchase some of the areas finest beers/ mixed drinks while the guide goes over the historical roots of the city. From there guests will walk the historical alley ways and cobblestone streets of Charleston to several cultural sites included a dungeon, the original city theater, and 300 year old homes. A second bar will be the site of another drink opportunity where the guide will relate stories specifically regarding the Prohibition era in Charleston and its affect on the populace. Towards the end of the experience guests will find themselves in a local park along the waterfront. Come live the local life!

Most Tours in Charleston will take out 20 people on a tour. I keep my tours smaller and max out at 10 people. We will meet in the lobby of the historic Menger Hotel before a brief walk through and discussion of all things Alamo before heading to the world famous riverwalk for a lunch at a locally owned bistro. We conclude our afternoon back at the Menger Bar for a digestif and private tour of the historic hotel and bar. The Menger Hotel bar that Teddy Roosevelt bellied up to in May of 1898 and recruited many his Rough Riders after a round or two. Drink in hand we will then explore the oldest hotel west of the Mississippi and discover it's many secrets including the history behind why it is reportedly the most haunted hotel in Texas.

Black History & Heritage Tour


Located at Cherrybrook Road and Main Street, about twenty (20) minutes drive from Halifax, the Centre houses a museum section, an auditorium, gift shop, RCMP community office and a reference library. Our tour of the Black Cultural Centre will consist of visiting the former Africville Village, where many African-Nova Scotians lived. We will also visit some of the African-Canadian historic homes and the United Baptist church. You will be able to learn some interesting and significant facts about African-Canadian history from the time of the slave trade, the emancipation from slavery and the general struggle of black people from the United States to Canada, en route from and to Africa. This educational tour will help you understand and appreciate what the black cultural centre stands for as thousands of people including tourists, students, dignitaries etc. come to visit year-round. Uncivil Wards History Tour


Richmond's role as the Capitol of the Confederacy during the Civil War brought more than just legislators to the city's doorstep.
