Hiking Tour of La Leona Waterfall with Lunch


La Leona Waterfall Hike An intimate private tour of the most off the beaten path trail to La Leona Waterfall. The day consists of a moderate 2-hour hike alongside the blue waters of Rio Blanco located deep in the canyons of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano where you will spot wildlife with your local guide along the way. You will be lead along the shaded path that goes upriver, stopping by 5 different pools and passing through a stone canyon, caves and small waterfalls until you reach the entrance of the canyon that leads to La Leona waterfall. Here you put your things in a drybag to jump into the water and swim a short distance to the waterfall. The waterfall has a stone beach in front of it where you can take photos. Initially Mateo Salado was a Yschma civilization administrative-ceremonial centre, but then it was occupied by the Incas, being they who enabled the section that united this ¨huaca¨ with Pachacamac, south of Lima. Full day: Moon and Sun temple & Chan Chan from Trujillo


Pick up from your accommodation in Trujillo ( city center) around 10:00am from where we will leave for the Campiña de Moche, first we will go to the Huacas de Moche Museum where we appreciate the archaeological remains extracted from the Huaca de the Moon exhibited in three rooms; that allow to know about the moches, their city, the cult to the power and to the god of the mountain Aia Paec. We will then follow to Huaca de La Luna, which is a religious architectural complex made of adobe, where the image of their deity Aia Paec is shown in high relief, as well as the iconography of warriors, dancers, spiders and snakes. After lunch (lunch not included) we will start the Chan Chan Tour, we will pick you up from the main square or at the restaurant that was left. Later we will go to the Chan Chan Site Museum, where you can see the prehispanic cultural development of the region and where the Chimú story is told through projections of lights and sound effects. Return toTrujillo 6:00 pm.
