This Ice Fishing Trip will offer you a great chance to catch your breath in the silence of Lapland nature while experiencing a traditional activity that many locals like to practice. Our Ice Fishing Trip will take you to a frozen lake outside Rovaniemi. The place we choose for ice fishing not only offers a good chance to catch something but we also help restore ones tranquility and peace of mind. Many locals still practice this activity during the winter to catch food for themselves or their dogs and to enjoy the relaxing serenity of Lapland nature. On all our excursions, our groups are limited to 8 travelers maximum. It is very important for us to provide you with the best experience possible, and avoid mass tourism. This way, your guide will know you better and will be able to address all your needs and answer your questions. As we usually say – the smaller the group, the bigger the experience!

Ice fishing initiation activity. The guide will take care of making you discover this ancestral activity. It would be Algonquins who introduced the French settlers to ice fishing. From a survival activity, ice fishing has become a popular hobby. Turnkey activity, the guide will dig the hole in the ice and set the bait on the hook. You can keep and cook your caught fish if you wish. Peaceful and relaxed activity, in the heart of nature, you will have the opportunity to fill up with fresh air.

Riding a snowmobile is one of the best activities you can try in Lapland. You can get closer to the beautiful landscapes of the Arctic. Ice fishing is a unique way to enjoy the natural environment. Drill the ice of the lake, wait for arctic fish and experience the traditional lifestyle. Surrounded by beautiful nature, enjoy panoramic views of Lappish nature and the sparkling snow-covered lake. If you don't catch any fish, don't worry! Gather with others around the fire, we will prepare grilled salmon for you to enjoy after a long day. Departure time may vary. Ice Fishing on the fjord, starts at the pick-up point in Tromsø. From there we will drive you to the spot and walk down to the frozen sea. On this trip you will get a unique opportunity to catch your own fish. After the fishing trip we will drive to the basecamp and prepare the Fish in Norwegian style. If we catch any fish you will learn how to prepare and cook it. There will be told local stories and you can relax in the middle of the arctic wilderness. . When you have learned about our local history and are well rested, we will drive you back to the pick-up point i Tromsø.

What makes our ice fishing trip special is how hands-on and personal it is – Our max group size is 7 persons. We’ll take you to a quiet lake where you can drill your own hole in the ice and try catching Perch. You’ll enjoy the peaceful winter setting while learning a fun new skill. It’s a relaxed and memorable way to experience Lapland!

How to catch fish when it’s hiding under a one-meter layer of ice? You will learn that and much more, as we take you ice fishing on a frozen lake amidst beautiful winter scenery. This experience starts at our meeting point in Levi to get all the equipment for ice fishing. After, we travel around 20 minutes to reach the ice-covered lake. Then it is all about fishing! We walk on top of the lake on a thick layer of ice and find the best spots for the day. The main activity is of course ice fishing itself, but the frozen lake offers also an ideal setting for landscape and wildlife photos. We will also set up a campfire and enjoy some hot drinks and snacks – and if there is big enough catch, we can fry the fish too!

We will be ice fishing for stocked Rainbow Trout on one of the local lakes right here in Whistler. The fish range between 8 & 14 inches in length but if you are lucky there is the "chance" of hooking an 18 + inch trout. This is a great experience for those new to ice fishing. I will set up a large tent-like ice fishing shelter which will have a heater inside to keep you nice and toasty. We also put you in a pair of insulated winter boots with ice cleats for warmth & safety. If it's a nice day you can move around the lake a lot more. This way, you can take in all the beautiful scenery the area has to offer which includes Whistler and Blackcomb mountain in the background. There is a good chance we will have the lake all to ourselves. It's the perfect getaway when you need a break from skiing and want some quiet time. This is truly a Canadian experience that you must cross off your bucket list

On Lake Bodom, the largest in the Helsinki region, located just 25 minutes from central Helsinki, I invite you to an ice fishing initiation using the Pilkki, the Nordic fishing rod! Once there we will walk on the lake to find the ideal place where there is the best chance of catching fish. I will then explain how to make a hole in the ice and how to use the pilkki. Then it's up to you! You will be ready to catch lots of fish! At the end, in a Laavu, the traditional refuge, I will make a fire to be able to grill the makkara, the traditional sausages. There is also an option for vegetarians. I will also serve you a delicious glögi as well as piparri, traditional cookies.

Once we reach the lake, we will teach you the basics of ice fishing and enjoy a pleasant afternoon fishing and photographing. We will also set up a campfire in traditional Lappish Teepee and enjoy some hot drinks and snacks – and of course fry our catch of the day!
