Encounter the gorillas firsthand on your trekking expedition. With a strenuous day trekking, it would be ideal to find a better place for relaxation. You then ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with terraced farming and mountain scenery. Drive through to Bwindi. (Transit time is about 10 hours) You will then transfer to Queen Elizabeth where you will do game drives with excellent views of Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hog, Cape Buffallo, Defasia Water Buck, Uganda Kob, Topi and Bush buck. You will also have an exciting boat cruise on the spectacular kazinga channel. On day 5, After breakfast, follow the path of evolution to the home of Man’s closest relatives, the Chimpanzees, as you track them in Kyambura Gorge. Thereafter return to Kampala. Drop off at your place of residence.

Due to its great forest age of over 25,000 years, species diversity is a feature of the park. It provides habitat to over 120 species of mammals like chimpanzees, blue monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, and the mountain gorilla, 357 species of birds including 23 Albertine Rift Valley endemics such as the short-tailed warbler, African green broadbill, blue-headed sunbird to mention but a few, 220 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and many other endangered species. Floristically, the park is among the most diverse forests in Eastern Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plants, including 163 tree species and 104 species of ferns.
