They are also free roaming on the private reserve. They are not kept in cages like a zoo. We allow 8 people a day to walk with the elephants.  Is it safe? Yes. Our groups are kept to a maximum of 8 people in order not to upset the elephants. The hike is guided by 3 elephant rangers who will keep you safe. The 3 elephants were rescued from the Kruger Park and and used to humans being around them. What the tour is about? We take a walk with the elephants in their natural environment. The list distance covered is between 500m and 2km depending on what the elephants decide to do. Sometime they are active and sometimes they just eat trees. All in all, an incredible experience and totally ethical.  This is not a zoo or a petting facility.
