LEMOSHO ROUTE 8 DAY begins and ends at Safari Lodge in Arusha, arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), there will be a private transfer waiting at the airport to pick you to Arusha Safari Lodge. All airport transfers are the part of the package, no extra fee is required. THE BEST MONTHS TO CLIMB KILIMANJARO. Normally March, April, and May are the months with long rains and should be avoided. November is usually short rains but it does not often rain all the days so Climbing is possible. The best Months for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro are January, February and also August and September. July can be colder and November to December can be wet. January to February is the warmest months, almost clear of clouds each evening and morning. The success rates with our guides are outstanding compared to the overall success rates for all climbers who attempt to reach the top.

The Lemosho Route is typically completed in 8 days. This is a great option if you want a longer trek for acclimatization. It connects with the Machame Route at Shira 2 Camp. This route provides the opportunity to “trek high and sleep low” which is considered important in minimizing the potential for altitude sickness. The climb starts above the picturesque mountain village of Machame to the south of Kilimanjaro. After passing through the Machame forest and into the moorland zone, we scramble up and over some rocks and eventually emerge onto the Shira Plateau. We then advance counter-clockwise traversing below the southern face of Kibo, climb Lava Tower for magnificent 360 degree panoramas, ascend the Great Barranco Wall, a challenging and exhilarating rock scramble, and approach Uhuru Summit from Barafu or Kossovo Camp and the ridge that abuts the Southeast Valley. The climb from Barafu offers incredible views of Mawenzi Peak and Kilimanjaro’s remnant volcanic cone.

As one of the newer routes, Lemosho is a superb choice for your climb. It is our preferred route due to its ideal balance of beautiful scenery, good acclimatization, and a high summit success rate. Most of our clients who have used Lemosho Route have rated this route as excellent. The trek begins at Londorossi Gate, located on the western side of the mountain at an altitude of 2360 meters. The route takes you through a majestic rainforest where some of the region’s most unique wildlife can often be seen. The route continues up to the lowest of Kilimanjaro's 3 dormant volcanoes at Shira Ridge. Lemosho Route is a long route and we recommend an 8 days itinerary.
