Adorn an authentic silk wedding Kimono or wield a Samurai Katana to commemorate your visit to Kyoto! You are welcome to take photos during your visit. You can even bring the experience home with you as we offer a large array of Matcha Chawan (Matcha Tea Bowl) and authentic silk Kimono for purchase. An experience like no other being the only Samurai house in Kyoto with such offerings. We are able to offer this traditional space and still be very conveniently located only an 8 minute walk from Kyoto station, making this experience a seamless addition to your time in Kyoto.

The joy of creating with your own hands. This is a workshop to experience traditional Japanese crafts in Kyoto. Workshops to make pewter sake cups are rare. It may seem difficult, but don't worry. Our pewtersmith will carefully assist you. We will also show you our workshop, which you would not normally see. Pewterware have long been valued in Japan for their ability to make sake and tea taste good. We invite you to experience this with a cup you have made yourself! Why not make a handmade cup for yourself or for your loved one and give it as a gift? The finished cups will be packaged in a paulownia wood box, making them perfect for gift-giving!

Beyond the Kyoto Insider Sake Experience covers sake brewed with a very different concept than the ones introduced in the basic sake tours. Sake you will taste in this experience is unique and exceptional: ones brewed using ancient methods that are different from modern methods, a new type of sake that utilizes the characteristics of microorganisms, and sake that is brewed using local wood, giving it a taste unique to the region. By tasting these types of sake, you will be fascinated by the profundity of sake and the possibilities of how different tastes can be created by the sake making process. Please note that in the Advanced Sake Tasting Experience, we also cover the basics of sake production and the sake categories. Even if you have no prior sake experience, you can enjoy the Advanced course.

This is a very unique activity where you can actually learn how to make bamboo crafts. You can design and make your own bamboo craft such as LED lantern, smartphone holder, flower base, sake bottle, sake cup, tea cup…at your own ideas! No worries if you have no experience, we will instruct you in detail how to cut and use tools to make bamboo crafts. The workshop locates in a bamboo craftsman’s house with all the equipments needed.
