The Real tour of Communism


The Real Tour of Communism will take you through all of the major aspects regarding the life under communist rule in Romania which lasted officially from 1948 to 1989. The Communism era was marked by the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu who ruled Romania for most of this period (1965-1989). We will discover the landmarks of the Communist era to understand how the city's architecture was influenced and changed for ever. But also the former locations of the Secret Police where Romanians were interrogated and tortured too. The tour ends in the Revolution Square where Nicolae Ceausescu had his last speech on Dec 21st 1989 few days before he was executed together with his wife.

Life under Communism


In this 3-hour walking tour about communism, you'll discover the major landmarks and events of the communist period of history in Bucharest: the violent beginnings of the communist regime, the nationalization and forced demolition of thousands of houses, the Palace of the Parliament, the Ceausescu family and the anti-communist revolution of 1989.


Chichen Itza and cenote in a mayan community


We will start this beautiful day picking you up at the meeting point, the goal is arrive to Chichen Itza early, since is the most visited archaeological site. As soon as it´s open (8:00 am) we will have the chance to enjoy the place with less people, have better pictures and take advantage of the refreshing morning. We will stop in a convenience store to grab something to eat. Inside the archaeological site i will explain you the customs, history, and life of the mayan civilization and the city. Afterwards we will drive to a cenote administrated by a mayan community (natural sinkholes) where we´ll have enough time to swimm

This is a walking tour in Bucharest, using a normal pace. The purpose of the tour is for the visitors of Bucharest and Romania to have a thorough understanding of what Communism meant for the country and most importantly, for its people. At the end of the 3 hours you will have most of your questions about the regime answered but you will also have the opportunity to ask any further ones to your guide. This is the first community tour in Uganda. It is an opportunity for visitors to explore the local culture of Uganda and help support the women led households.


Delwara Heritage and Community Walk


This is a guided tour of a village with historic temples, stepwells and a royal palace (now a luxury hotel). The tour guides grew up in the village and still live there and will introduce travellers to its villagers and artisans who themselves can provide guided instruction on their arts, for example pottery, jewellery and stitching. The guides will also take travellers into old temples, access to which is normally restricted to worshipers. The tour provides a unique opportunity to see a real part of India which is not otherwise seen by tourists and to learn about its way of life. The tour is in fact an initiative of the NGO Seva Mandir in order to help preserve and highlight the unique heritage of Delwara and to provide job opportunities to its young guides who run the tour.

Mathare Community Slum Tour


This Community Tour aims to uplift the lives of the slum dwellers, by 1) creating a conduit for them to achieve economic empowerment through income generated from these visits and 2) support the emotional well-being of slum dwellers by creating a platform where they can share stories, get encouragement, make new friends, and remove the stigma of HIV. The tour guides are mothers who were born and brought up in Mathare, now taking care of their children and those left behind by their relatives or neighbors who died, got incarcerated or varnished without a trace. The women will welcome you to their houses to see how they live, care for those ravaged by the H.I.V scourge and other maladies, help you experience their daily life, share with you their gripping stories of how they ended up living in the slums as well how they cope with life. The security-guards are the reformed youths within the slums, who have become role models to others to stay away from the vices.
