Manga Workshop

Spend up to 2-hours taking a Manga lesson from a professional Japanese Manga artist in English. This lesson can be adjusted to suit the student’s skill level, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced manga artist, you can learn something new and enjoy the experience. The lesson will have manga tools such as manga-paper, manga pens and ink, screen-tone, etc, prepared for your use. All you have to do is bring yourself. The teacher is Nao Yazawa, she is most well known for her manga series Wedding Peach, which was made into an anime series of the same name. Both the manga and anime series were translated into several languages. Since 2008, she has been teaching manga workshops (in English) internationally, in Germany, Denmark, Austria, Canada, and the United States. She also wrote/draw How to draw manga books, MANGA Drawing Deluxe and Drawing and Painting Anime and Manga Faces, in English and several languages.

This workshop is an unique experience for visitors who want to immerse themselves in the world of Japanese manga and anime culture. You will be supported by a professional manga artist who has been creating manga for over 20 years, using traditional techniques that have evolved over the past 100 years, allowing you to create your very own manga. Visitors will draw manga using the same process as a professional manga artist: ideation, rough sketching, drafting, inking, filling in solid blacks, applying screen tones, and adding speech bubbles. Don't worry if you're unsure about your drawing skills. With the support of a manga artist, those worries will disappear. In fact, people who had the same concerns have successfully completed high-quality manga in just two hours. *The minimum number of participants is 2 people. The fee for participation alone is the same as for two people.

Let's draw a one-page comic together! In 3-hours Manga Workshop, a professional manga artist will teach you gently. You can take your drawing home as a souvenir. You can ask a lot of questions about the Japanese manga industry. After drawing a rough sketch with a pencil, use a specialized tool to add ink! You can also learn how to draw effect lines if you have time. We have samples for each level. Even beginners can enjoy the process of drawing manga useing the samples.
