On the Uncle Nearest distillery tour, you will learn all about the man himself, Nathan “Nearest” Green, AKA Uncle Nearest. Nathan Green was born into slavery in Tennessee. He was also widely regarded as the finest whiskey distiller in the area. He is widely believed to be the perfector of the “Lincoln County Process,” where whiskey is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before barreling. This filtration process is what separates Tennessee Whiskey from bourbon. Nearest Green taught a young Jack Daniel the art of whiskey making. Years later, after the Civil War when Nearest Green was a free man, Jack hired “Uncle” Nearest as his first master distiller, making him the first African American master distiller in the country. Years later, the Nearest Green Distillery was opened in his honor, and is one of the largest black-owned distilleries in the country.

Travel by private vehicle over scenic to Cambodia’s former capital, Oudong, about 39km from Phnom Penh. The ride passes rural villages, local pagodas, and scenic rice paddies before reaching the main hill of Oudong. On the way, visit a family that is producing palm sugar at their house.Then, climb the stairs to the top of Oudong Mountain and enjoy magnificent views over the plains below. Your guide will explain the history of the area and its buildings the religious culture of Cambodia. On the way back to Phnom Penh stop to visit the village of Kompong Luong, famous for its silverwork. After arrived to Phnom Penh, see Wat Phnom Duan Penh where is the latest capital city of Phnom Penh City. Then, move to Royal Palace where is the residence of Royal family and next to Silver Pagoda. At the last stop, go to see the largest Independence Monument of Cambodia and also the Statue of Father King Norodom Sihanouk. We use a METAL filter instead of a steam machine, we use condense milk instead of sugar, Robusta beans instead of Arabica, we sip the coffee instead of drinking it, we sit together instead of personal spaces. Duong Lam town is an ancient village, we ride a bicycle around town and see some ancient houses, and take a picture of the traditional make fish sauce in the local family. Duong Lam is 35 km2 from Hanoi. Duong Lam is a commune of Son Tay town, Hanoi, Vietnam. Duong Lam becomes the first ancient village in Vietnam. Two of Vietnam’s kings, Phung Hung (761-802) and Ngo Quyen (896-944) were born in Duong Lam, giving the village its prestige. Both men led resistance wars against northern invasion and after winning national independence, were crowned kings. After their deaths, the local people built them.
