Minitrekking is a Full day Excursion that allows you to walk on the top of a Moreno Glacier with crampons. Operation from August to May. Does not operate during June and July. Duration: 10 hours Trekking on the Ice: About an hour and a half. Total trekking time: approximately 3 hours. Warning: this excursion, due to the degree of effort and difficulty that presents, is not advisable for the following people: greater of 65 years and minors of 10 years old, pregnant women, people with overweight or some type of disability.

Dare to do a minitrekking in the Perito Moreno Glacier! I lived the experience of walking on the glacier. This unmissable experience begins in the “Bajo de las sombras” port, within the Los Glaciares National Park. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and you will be able to enjoy the ice formations; learn about the flora, fauna and glaciology of the region; and, especially, on the phenomenon of rupture of the glacier. Being a moderate walk, on an irregular but firm surface, it can only be done by people between 08 and 65 years old, due to its physical demands. Neither can pregnant women or people with reduced mobility, arthritis, prostheses, knee problems, meniscus problems, overweight people, or people with heart problems. The activity does not include food, so you must bring your own lunch and a bottle of water (There is no possibility of buying food anywhere).

We will start our activity inside the Los Glaciares National Park, located 80 km from the city of El Calafate. The glaciers protected in this Park, generated centuries and even millennia ago, bear witness to the enormous masses of ice that dominated part of the planet during the last two million years and witnessed the birth of humanity. From the beginning, the trip holds pleasant surprises. Leaving the town, to the right we can see Lake Argentino with its Redonda Bay. In it you can see an important variety of birds, highlighting the black-necked swan, flamingo, steam duck, coot, up-land goose. When we get to the Park we will have a panoramic view of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Brief stop to take pictures and continue to Puerto Bajo las Sombras. Here you will board the boat for the Navigation through the southern arm of the Canal de los Témpanos to have different views of the wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. (Duration: 1 hour) Back at the Port, we go to the Footbridges where we will have a service sector for visitors and a system of balconies and footbridges that allow walks through different routes and access to different truly incredible views of the Glacier and its proximity. After some free time for walks and lunch (optional), the return to El Calafate begins.

We will meet at the meeting point to begin a 5 and a half hour trip that will take you to the Perito Moreno glacier, in Argentina. After the border procedures at the Don Guillermo Pass, a guide will pick up in El Calafate and you will follow the path to Los Glaciares National Park. The visit to the park will last 1 hour and a half, during which you will be able to walk the walkways in front of the Perito Moreno glacier. You will visit several viewpoints and, if you are lucky, you will be able to see some of the ice falls of more than 70 m. There is also the option of dividing your time and walking the walkways for 30 minutes and taking the navigation in front of the glacier for 1 hour (not included).
