On this Tamarindo Turtle Nesting tour, you will have the rare chance to see Olive Ridley and Green Pacific sea turtles, dig their nests, lay their eggs, and sometimes even see the babies hatching and making their way out to sea! The professional tour guide will take you walking along some remote beaches just North of Playa Grande in search of the turtles as they arrive and dig their nests in the sand! Due to the sensitive nature of this naturalist tour, we prohibit the use of flashlights or flash on your cameras, but you may take pictures. A special red light will be provided by the guide that does not disturb the turtles. Turtles can be seen year round, but November to April is the peak season for turtle nesting.

The first time that Easy Company part of the 101st. Airborne division reached the hills of Obersalzberg most of the buildings in that area where destroyed. If you visit this area today you will see that a lot has changed, the forest has taken over and a big parking place leads people straight up the mountain. This tour is here to provide you with far reaching insight of the historical locations hidden in the forest, see the ruins of Hitler's house and other WWII sights that will bring history to life. Then hike up from there to the Eagle's Nest and you will following the steps of the first American soldiers that got there by foot in May 1945. Tortuguero is one of the most important nesting sites for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles in the Caribbean during the months of July to October. During the night at high tide, the females come to lay their eggs. This is a unique experience that will provide priceless memories. Our Naturalist Guide will share learned secrets and expertise about this marine species and its history in Tortuguero, in a totally natural environment with profound respect for nature. The tour always takes place even if it rains, it cannot be postponed for another day. It's important to understand that the chances of having the opportunity to observe a sea turtle in its natural habitat are high, but the possibility of not seeing one exists. Therefore, please take this opportunity as a gift from Mother Nature. Recommended attire: Wear dark clothes, closed-toe shoes or hiking shoes, rainjacket, insect repellent and reusable water bottle. Cellphones or any other electronic device aren't allow during the tour.

Arrivals commonly occur at Ostional beach only 3 days a month based on tides and phase of the moon, however, the turtles themselves are the ones that decide, so the dates are unpredictable. Turtles always lay their eggs on the same beach, which is also the same where they were born, which makes the experience even more special. Depending on the time the guides, who will do everything possible to see turtles, will take them in case of arrival to the Ostional refuge or a fairly popular option is the Corozalito refuge where there are no arrivals, but you have good opportunities to see turtles in less quantity and even newborns.
