Welcome to Canada’s first City, Saint John, New Brunswick, the only city on the Bay of Fundy, home of the world’s highest tides. Meet at Area 506 Waterfront Container Village entrance, and proceed along historic Water Street to Market Square to access the City’s indoor pedway system. This avoids an uphill walk on King St, the steepest main street in Canada. The tour is flat, with a downhill section near the end. Copies of rare photos are used during the tour. Historical facts are featured, from 1783 until the present day. Your knowledgeable guide will focus on numerous points of interest and hidden gems including the history of Saint John over the last 242 years. The final part of the tour is on Prince William St, once known as the Wall St of Canada.

The Hopewell Rocks are located along the Bay of Fundy and are home of the highest tides in the world. An iconic and popular place for ocean tidal exploration, it offers a unique natural experience of both high and low tides. Enjoy the multi-media exhibit, scenic walking trails, informative walking tours and lookouts.   Walk on the ocean floor with towering rock formations that have been carved by the weather and the powerful incoming waters over decades. You’ll want to visit the Hopewell Rocks during both high tide and low tide so you can truly appreciate the height and range of the highest tides in the world.  Nearby are Fundy National Park, Cape Enrage, Mary’s Point Bird Sanctuary, Covered bridges, artisan shops, crafters, museums, quiet beaches, lighthouses, waterfalls, biking and hiking trails and more. At Hopewell Rocks, Baymount Outdoor Adventures allows you to kayak the world’s highest tides around the huge rock formations!

This tour is 6+ hours long tour with 3 different sized passenger buses. This is available only for tourists visiting via Cruise ships or privately booked events with a minimum of 10 people. The smallest bus holds 20 passengers, the medium bus holds 24 passengers, and the largest bus holds 33 passengers. There is some easy walking involved on this tour, so please wear comfortable shoes. Please note that there will be some minor waiting required since passengers need to leave the cruise ship and then get into the bus. We cannot leave until all the passengers in the group have been seated in the bus. ***Please note: Our season begins March 1st and ends around November 15th. This tour offers a smaller group experience than the cruise lines at a better price. If you have ever wanted to see the highest tides in the world, mixed in with the historical nature of the quaint fishing villages then this is the best way to spend your time ashore in new Brunswick. Don't forget to visit the wave-carved sea caves in the sandstone cliff if the tide is low enough to allow access while you're there. It is a photographer's delight! There will also be an opportunity to purchase a mug of world-famous seafood chowder. You also get to see the oldest farmers market in Canada in the old city part of the tour, dating back to 1876. You will have a chance at working with glass, and creating your own piece of Stained Glass to take home with you.

Dumfries Maples is a 25 year old maple syrup farm located 50km west of Fredericton in Central New Brunswick along the Wolastoq (St. John River), operating on a family property dating back to the late 1880’s. A visit includes a guided tour of our farm, describing how we produce maple syrup, explaining the process from tree to bottle. The tour also tells the unique history of maple syrup from its beginning to present day, as well as the local history of the area. The tour will be followed by warm homemade biscuits served with our maple butter and a beverage inside our owner-built cedar log cabin. This will be followed by the treat of maple taffy on snow. Extend your visit by exploring the property on our trails where you can experience nature and view wildlife. Enjoy a guided kayaking adventure along the shores of the historic Saint John River from Dominion Park Beach in Saint John NB. Located just a short 15 minute drive from the center of the city! History and photo opportunity abounds as you paddle in your tandem kayak along an ice aged river where 15,000 years ago receding glaciers forced the river to find a new route over the rock ridges at Reversing Falls Rapids. A light-house, pre-cambrian fossils, and an industrial story dating back to the 17th century. Explore the beautiful and bountiful river which has been the lifeblood of our region for thousands of years. Keep your head on a swivel and an eye on the horizon for local wildlife, including bald eagles, blue heron, sturgeon, and if we're lucky, even the occasional rare sighting of harbour seal, osprey, and river otters. ** The traveller information collected at registration (age, height, weight, etc) is so we can plan appropriately with gear, (rough estimates are acceptable)

Your tour includes a visit to the seaside community of St. Martins. Step back in time and sense the serenity of this area with its wharf, fishing boats, and piled lobster traps. With the ocean as a backdrop, you'll capture memorable photos of many interesting features including lighthouses and twin covered bridges. If the tide is low enough, visit the wave-carved sea caves. Learn about this small community's wooden ship building industry and see some of the highest tides in the world ebb and flow during your visit. You'll also visit the famous Reversing Falls Rapids where the huge tides from the Bay of Fundy force the mighty Saint John River. Before returning to the cruise ship, we'll stop and explore the unique Old City Market in the heart of Saint John and learn why the local folks have loved to buy fresh produce here since 1876. Then your guide will take you to the Reversing Falls Rapids a series of rapids on the Saint John River where the river runs through a narrow gorge before emptying into the Bay of Fundy. Then, take a step back in history at Fort La Tour, a National Historic Site of Canada – an archaeological site containing the remains of a 17th. Continue to learn about the city’s history at the Carleton Martello Tower – one of the nine surviving Martello Towers in Canada dating back to 1812. At the end of your tour, your guide will take you back to your Downtown Saint John hotel.
