During this short jungle trek you have a big chance to see Sumatran Orangutans and other wildlife as well as a wide variety of plants and insects. In the morning at 10:30 our English speaking guide will pick you up from your nearby guest house in Bukit Lawang. Afterwards your group will start your trek through dense rainforest passing unforgettable scenic viewpoints overlooking the whole valley, the Bohorok River and the village of Bukit Lawang. Towards the end of your trek you will arrive at the foot of Bukit Lawang and will be guided back to your guesthouse by around 15:00 pm. Behind its beauty, Pusuk Buhit keeps a legend. In the mythology of the Batak Tribe, Puncak Pusuk Buhit is the origin of the tribe. The Batak people believe that Pusuk Buhit was the birthplace of the Batak king. Then the king built a village in one of the valleys called Sianjur Mula-mula. This village was the beginning of the spread of the Batak tribe to various regions. You can also learn about the legend from the local community This mountain has an altitude of about 1972 meters above sea level surrounded by several districts such as Sianjur Mula-Mula, Harian Boho, and Pangururan. At the top you are rewarded with beautiful views of the lake, samosir island, mountains and waterfalls! The hike took 3 hours up and 2 hour back down. I think anyone of average fitness would be able to reach the summit and it's a very enjoyable hike.
