Ocoee River

This section is great for beginners or the experienced rafter with over 20 continuous class III & IV rapids. With plenty of places to surf and play, you’ll see why thousands of folks return year after year to raft this classic 5-mile run. Starting just below the Ocoee Dam No. 2, you’ll encounter your first big rapid, Grumpy’s, then its on to Broken Nose, Roller Coaster, Table Saw, Hell’s Hole and many more. Top that all off with a great place to swim about half way down and you’ll certainly become “one” with the river. Our wonderful river guides will help make your adventure one to remember.

All of our guides complete an extensive training program that includes certification in First Aid and CPR. Also, many guides and all Trip Leaders have advanced accreditations such as a Wilderness First Responder Certification. The Ocoee River formed naturally without any of the undercuts or sieves present in most waterways. For our rafters that means we can push the boundaries of what a non-professional can experience. At OAR we train for longer then any other company. We are also the only company that requires each guide to complete an EMR certification as well as a Swiftwater Rescue class. This enables us to confidently do things on the water other companies can't and take guests that other companies won't.

Learn about some of our Florida bird species from guides with a background in field biological research, a certified master naturalist, and experience in guiding birding tours and leading field trips for birding festivals for over a decade. We can provide tours for "listers" who would like to see as many species as possible, photographers who would like to take their time and get the best shot and the best angle possible, and all types of birders in between. The Puma raft's are narrower, shorter and ride the rapids completely differently. You will get wet on this trip! Minimum 2 guests per booking maximum 24 guests.
