Experience this origami activity for beginners, set in a beautiful environment, surrounded by incredible models and unique displays made by our origami artists based in Japan and the US. Choose from 50 colors of origami paper and fold as many models as you'd like, guided by our tablet software that will take a folder from a square piece of paper to an assortment of animals, flowers, and vehicles in no time, ranging from beginner to intermediate in difficulty. Ask your origami instructor if you need help folding a model. Guests may take photos throughout their experience, purchase rare origami books, and enjoy our origami displays during and after their session. Origami is the ancient art of paper folding. The word is Japanese, with "ori" meaning "to fold" and "gami" meaning "paper". Today origami is designed, folded, and enjoyed all over the world. Taro's Origami Studio is the first origami studio in United States.

You will learn the basics of Japanese cuisine by seeing the food catered at the Tsukiji Fish Market. An experienced guide will run you through the basics of Japanese food. You and your guide will buy quality “neta” or ingredients for your sushi making class directly from the fish market. Relocate to our studio and learn how to make “temari”, “maki” or rolled and “chirashi” sushi so that you could not only enjoy but also replicate and hold sushi parties at home. After you have enjoyed eating your self made sushi lunch, you will proceed to make “tea ceremony sweets” which will double as your dessert with your experienced “urasenke” tea ceremony master. After you learn the rudiments on how to savor confectionaries in tea ceremony style, you will proceed to experience an actual tea ceremony session using quality matcha tea worthy of tea ceremony masters. You will be given the opportunity to actually whisk quality tea with your partners hence learn the basics of the ceremony

This 6hr walking tour includes 45min Origami Experience at Taro's Origami Studio. Before your experience, you will go on a walking tour with our licensed guide! Your guide will drop you off at Taro's Origami Studio after a 5 hour walking tour. Start time: The estimated time for the experience will be about 5 hours from the start of the tour. 2-day immersive professional course to study in depth the traditional techniques of Japanese washi paper making. Hone your skills under the guidance of a 4th generation craftspersons in a washi studio with over 120 years of history. Follow almost all steps of Tosa washi making with a focus on using natural ingredients in an environment-friendly way Connect your own made washi paper with a local cultural activity: a visit to a Shinto shrine to receive its official stamp or a lesson in Japanese origami and enjoy the quiet rural area near one of Japan’s clearest water basins: Niyodo River.
