Orizaba Volcano

The Izta Popo National Park has 2 volcanoes in the same place. We have designed hiking routes so you can enjoy the incredible views of the dormant volcano Iztaccíhuatl and the active volcano Popocatépetl. Our certified guide will explain the flora and fauna of the place. Live and breathe pure air at about 3,600 meters above sea level and 4,300 meters above sea level. It is an excellent place to share a wonderful experience alone, with friends or family. The tour includes round-trip transportation. Choose between: Level 1. The walk begins at about 3,600 meters above sea level and ends at 3,980 meters above sea level. The trail is marked sandy. The total is 8-9km of which 4.5 km are moderate uphill and the rest is downhill. Level 2. The total is 14km of which 4km are uphill and the rest downhill with a few meters of moderate ascent. The trail is marked, mostly sandy with an outward view of the Izta and a return view of the Popo. Level 3. It is a 7km walk at an altitude of between 3,990 and 4,500 meters above sea level where there will be sand and stone.

In the orchard that covers the eastern slopes of the Pico de Orizaba and Cofre de Perote volcanoes, this small city stands out, characterized by its large mansions built in the Andalusian style with beautiful interior gardens. Through its streets you can perceive the aroma of roasted coffee, a hallmark of its magic, the same that reappears in its parks, old mansions and haciendas. During our tour we will talk about the history of Coatepec, from its pre-Hispanic settlements, through the colonial era to the most current. The Pico de Orizaba volcano is the highest in Mexico. It houses one of the last glaciers in Mexico and hides beautiful natural treasures. We have designed this hiking route so you can enjoy the incredible views of the Pico de Orizaba volcano. Our local guide will explain the flora and fauna of the place. We will visit 2 beautiful waterfalls created by the melting of one of the few glaciers that exist in Mexico, the Jamapa glacier, on the north face of the Pico de Orizaba volcano. After the waterfalls, we will continue climbing, and you will see how nature changes. In the mountains and volcanoes, trees, flowers, animals and all of nature in general adapt to the altitude. As you go up you will see this change, until you reach the point where the trees stop growing and the sandbanks begin. In this area, you will have unique views of the top of Pico de Orizaba and its glacier, the incredible views will leave you breathless. Book with us! This tour is NOT to the top of the volcano.

In these 8 days we will climb 3 of the biggest mountains in Mexico, Malinche, Iztaccíhuatl and Pico de Orizaba, the tip from Mexico.
