This guided day hike brings you closer or into the heart of most beautiful mountains of the area On each mountain there are a few available hiking routes for all levels from easy, medium to difficult hikes. Consider a min. of 4-5h for a day hike extendable to 8-10h choosing private departure on a longer route. Prior to departure, the guide will talk with you about every option and will make appropriate decision for the route to follow Piatra Craiului National Park – the host of our guaranteed departure day hike. Route starts near Zarnesti and takes hikers into the heart of the mountain, giving time for a refreshing tea (soup) at the mountain hut at 1400m. alt. The return path can have an extension hike to reach one peak with great panoramic views. As Piatra Craiului is the mountain with the most challenging marked trails of Romania, there are several alternative unforgettable routes for day hikes available for the private tour, taking you to the highest peak or along the main ridge.

Explore the pristine Piatra Craiului National Park on this private day hiking tour from Brașov. After filling our canteens with the pure water of the Botorog Fountain, we will go to the impressive Gorges of Zarnesti, with its more than 100 meters high. We will go up through the forest to the valley and from there we will continue to Cabaña Curmatura where we will make a break to eat. After the stop, we will go down the Zanoaga plain to reach the starting point following a different route.

Your adventure will begin in the morning, when your guide will collect you from your hotel in Brasov. After a brief drive to Zarnesti, you'll arrive at the starting point. A moderate hike through the breathtaking Zarnesti Gorge will lead you to La Table meadow, a key junction for the area's various routes. From there, you'll continue your ascent until you reach Grind refuge, located at 1600 meters above sea level. Take a moment to rest and appreciate the magnificent scenery that surrounds you.Next, you'll travel along the main ridge until you arrive at La Om peak, the highest point in the massif. From this incredible vantage point, you'll be able to capture stunning photographs of the nearby mountains. Following your exhilarating climb, you'll return to Grind refuge before being driven back to your accommodation in Brasov, where you can reminisce on your unforgettable experience in Piatra Craiului.

Spend a memorable day trip from Brasov to Piatra Craiului, one of the most challenging massifs in Romania. In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Brasov. After a short transfer to Zarnesti, you will reach the starting point. The hike begins with a moderate ascent through a beech forest. Once arrived in Zanoaga meadow, you will see the amazing views of Bucegi mountains and the main ridge of Piatra Craiului mountains. You will continue on an easy trail to Curmatura Chalet, the highest situated hut in this massif, at 1470 meters. Once arrived at the chalet, you will choose one of the trails that lead to the main ridge, to the Ascutit peak (2150 m) or choose another route that best suits your fitness level and experience. It offers us easy walking from Cota 2000 to Babele or The Biddies, rock formations carved by nature. Nearby we take pictures with the well known "Sphynx" and we find out that the inner energy of the mountain is searched by lots of hikers – Ciucat Mnt – Starting the hike from a high point, the nearby road passes at 1135m alt. we continue to hike towards the peak along the ridge line. – Fagaras Mnt – there are a few good options for day hikes around Balea lake with stunning views. – a gentle hill walk over the rolling hills around Bran Castle

Piatra Mare Mnt – at not more than 1h walk we reach the famous "7 ladders" canyon where water "washed" the way through the rocks forming a very narrow canyon. Ciucas Mnt – Starting the hike from a high point, the nearby road passes at 1135m alt. We continue to hike towards the peak along the ridge line Fagaras Mnt – From the glacier lake there are a few good options for day hikes around the lake with stunning views Bucegi Natural Park – use of cable car from Busteni/Sinaia to hike along the flat Plateau Hike over the rolling hills near Bran Castle

At around 8 AM your guide will pick you up from your location in Brasov and transfer to the starting point at Dambu Morii. Start hiking and after about 1 hour you will reach the Seven Ladders Canyon, carved by the Sipoaia stream in Jurassic limestone. You will go right through it on the special trail built with metal and consisting of seven ladders and multiple bridges. After exiting the canyon, you will continue your hike up to the Piatra Mare hut, at 1630 meters. After a short break, begin climbing to the peak, at 1844m. From the top, you will have fantastic views over Brasov area and the surrounding mountains: Bucegi, Piatra Craiului, Baiului, Postavaru, Ciucas. Depending on weather conditions and fitness level of the participants, you have several routes on the way down. One of them leads back to the hut where you can have a well deserved lunch. Continue down to base, get in the car and get back to your location in Brasov.

The trek is a medium one, except the part when we climb the highest peak of National Park: we start from Brasov, we end in Brasov – we trek between 5 – 8 hours, we make a stop to an authentic sheep farm for a "special" lunch (from June to September), we cross the authentic mountain villages from the bottom of the mountains, depending of the weather and you we climb the highest peak of the National Park (2238), we cross very nice gorges. We stay 3 nights at the same guesthouse.

You need to bring hiking boots and clothes that suits the outside weather, back pack, rain coat and a small snack. We also recommend to bring a hat, sun cream, ticks spray and hiking sticks.
