Hi, my name is Matteo and thank you for being here!  In my family business we make Tuscan pottery since generations, and after achieving the Certificate of Excellence from Tripadvisor we decided to open our knowledge to everyone that is curious to discover that very ancient tradition and wants to learn its secrets. In a full immersive two/three hours class we will experience together all the process in ceramic making.  Our shop in town is like our house, it is open since twenty years and it will be a pleasure to share our passion with you. The factory is a bit outside the city (in case I will bring you there with my car) and is where we make the magic, and you will see how many hands handle one single ceramic from a piece of clay to a decorated majolica. Then I won't say more, it's a full-immersive experience that you have to feel with your eyes, your hands and your heart.

・You will have the chance to try "tehineri"(clay forming by hand), a traditional technique handed down from the Jomon period(about 3,000 years ago), at a kiln that was established in 1796. ・Make your choice of bowls, plates, cups etc. After learning from and seeing an example from your instructor, you will get to make a piece with your own hands. ・After you're done making your piece, we will glaze and fire it for you, which will take about two months to complete. We will then send you your finished Kasama-yaki piece by SAL(Surface Air Lifted) mail.

This full day tour will take you to "Arouca Geopark" where the Paiva River flows at the bottom of a glorious valley. The Paiva Walkways or Passadiços do Paiva that follows the river path is our goal. Borosilicate glass blowing is a unique art that uses a table-mounted torch to melt and manipulate glass. While more niche than traditional glass blowing, this type of flameworking offers participants a unique, hands-on artistic experience. Each student will be equipped with their own torch and will make several glass pieces with support from Brahim.
