Rapido River

I'm Anna Maria Priora, an Italian licensed tour guide with a PhD in WWII history in Italy at the Humboldt University of Berlin. I will be happy to share with you the most important events of the 4 Battles of Cassino, but also the personal Veterans' stories! I will pick you up with my Italian Minivan at the train station of Cassino and we will cross Cassino new Town. We Will reach Trocchio Hill, to have a wonderful general view on the battlefield, then we will the stop next to the famous Rapido River, we will pay out respect to the local memorials and we will reach the Commonwealth War Cemetery of Cassino. At the end of the tour we will visit the Abbey of Monte Cassino on a WW2 point of view. Rapido River rafting is an exciting and unforgettable experience that's perfect for anyone looking for a bit of adventure. The trip is suitable for beginners and experienced rafters and is a great way to see the stunning scenery. The tour starts with pick-up from your hotel and a drive towards the Köprülü Canyon near Manavgat. After arrival, a rafting adrenaline adventure awaits you! Halfway through the trip, you'll stop for a local-inspired lunch break along the beautiful riverbank. Next up is the second half of rafting, awaiting you, passing through more rapids, and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the canyon. The trip ends with a drop-off back to your hotel in Alanya.

Firstly, we will visit the Cenote Azul where you will take your breakfast and then you will have free time to swim in this pretty place, there is some swings to take a photo for memories. Then we will go to a section of Bacalar Lagoon lined by stromatolites and mangroves forming a sort of canal where the current becomes a little stronger and the color of the water unbelievably beautiful. The fun of this amazing place is that you can walk on the platform up to the very end of the canal and float all the way back, thanks to the sweet currents of water. It looks like a river where the current will make you easily float from one point to another. Here you can enjoy a relaxation time (you have the option to rent a kayak). Please keep in mind that it is an area of stromatolites, so be careful where you step, since for Bacalar it is important as it helps maintain the colors of the water, in the same way you will see signs warning you where you should not step.

Along the way you will find viewpoints to enjoy the impressive views that the hills offer, you can go to one of the dark sandy beaches of Lake Mascardi. Passing Villa Mascardi, turn right and you can follow a path surrounded by native forests. It is an area of exceptional beauty, visited every year by lovers of mountains and fishing. Upon reaching the Manso River, you can stop at the Los Rapidos Bridge to watch trout swimming in a rush in the crystal clear water. From there you can see the upper Manso river valley in almost all its extension, with its meandering course and greenish-colored waters. Continuing to Pampa Linda, you will find a beautiful place where you will find accommodation and gastronomy services. From there you can see other Tronador glaciers. The ascent continues until you reach the last viewpoint of the route, the Ventisquero Negro, a glacier that descends from the Tronador and stands out for its dark color.
