You'll be collected in a private vehicle for the 1.5 hour trip to Iximche. There, our local guide will explain the lifestyle of the Mayans while you explore the museum and grounds. Perhaps you'll even see a Mayan spiritual ceremony. This site was the first Spanish capital of Guatemala and you'll learn about the lifestyle of the people who lived there. Iximche Ruins Tour from Antigua


Iximche – Capital of the Cakchiquel Maya at the time of the Spanish Conquest, and the first capital of Guatemala, founded by the spanish conquistador PEDRO DE ALVARADO. Is located about 2hrs away from Antigua Guatemala. Our local bilingual guide will meet you at the site, and the duration of the tour around iximche is about one hour and a half. The pick up time at your hotel is between 7:20am through 7:40 am. The tour ends back in Antigua Guatemala central park around 11:30am in Antigua.


Conímbriga Roman Ruins & Museum


The location site of Conímbriga was populated by the romans around 139 B.C., in a region that contained previous signs of prehistoric occupation, establishing the prosperous capital of Lusitânia. During the rule of Emperor Augusto, Conímbriga grew into a more urban scale including an amphitheater, thermal baths and Roman Forum. Though the most impressive remains of that period are the domus – manor houses – and the insulae. These structures are so well preserved that you will feel like travelling back in time! We will visit the locations of the old town of Conímbriga while learning about the daily livings during that period and understand the strategic location on the territory that later would become Portugal. At the monographic museum we will admire the objects that were used by the people on their daily tasks!
