This unique tour of the Panama Canal goes from the Pacific to the Atlantic ocean as you see the canal from the water and by foot. An exciting boat ride down the canal will introduce you to the transiting ships as well as the abundant wildlife on its shores, followed by a visit to Fort San Lorenzo and the new Agua Clara Locks. This is not a TRANSIT tour, we wont travel by boat inside the locks.

Full-Day Fort San Lorenzo and Panama Canal Guided Tour


Join us on a tour of the lesser visited Fort San Lorenzo on the Caribbean Coast of Panama and the Agua Clara Panama Canal locks. At 7:00am your English speaking driver and tour guide will meet you at your Panama City lodging from where you will continue on towards the Agua Clara Locks, located about 1.5 hours away, on the Caribbean side of the country. Visitors can take their time here and watch the gigantic ships passing through the locks below. Stroll through the visitor center, watch an informational video, or hike on the nearby rainforest trail. Learn about how engineers were able to raise Gatun Lake, built new locks, and widened existing channels to accommodate the massive New Panamax ships. At around 10:00am, we continue to the Fort San Lorenzo, arriving by 11:00am. Marvel in the rich history of the well preserved ruins as your guide explains the colorful history of this historic landmark. At 12:00pm we return to Panama City and will arrive back at your hotel by 1:00pm.

The Estancia San Lorenzo Natural Reserve is located within the Peninsula Valdés Protected Natural Area, 160 kilometers from the city of Puerto Madryn, in the province of Chubut, Patagonia Argentina. On its coasts is located a colony of more than 600,000 Magellanic penguins that can be visited between September 7 and March 31 of each year, making it the largest continental colony in the world. In addition to having the possibility of observing these wonderful animals in their natural habitat, in the area we can find marine fossils that emerge on the cliffs and ravines that drain into the sea. Thanks to the diversity of attractions, you can choose to travel different trails that vary according to the area to visit and their difficulty.
