Shelling Tour

Our 3hr Shell Key Shelling Trip is offered from Hubbard’s Marina inside Johns Pass and offers around one hour on the island exploring and shelling with around an hour ride down the back protected bay waters on a relaxing, safe, and fun trip onboard the HUB Cat 49. On the ride back to Johns Pass, we will cruise up our beautiful gulf beaches when weather allows, if it’s a little bumpy the ride back will also be in the back protected bay waters. We will often spot dolphins, seabirds, manatees and other wildlife on the ride out and back!

Our Shell Island Dolphin Tour is Panama City Beach's only partially guided jet ski tour. After arrival and check-in, our experienced staff will give some safety and trip instructions. Once we are on the water, we will embark on a fast-paced adventure in the emerald waters of St. Andrews Bay. Weather permitting, we will enter the Gulf of Mexico on a hunt for wildlife. Dolphins are our main attraction, but sea turtles, manatees, rays, fish, and crabs are just some of the species that have been seen in the water. We will then circle back to the bay side of Shell Island for a quick break. The pristine beaches of Shell Island provide the perfect spot to catch your breath before taking off for some more riding. At this time, guests will take off on their own for some exploring. Guests are welcome to spend this time continuing to ride their jet ski, walking on the beach or swimming in the bay. With about 15 minutes remaining guests will gather and follow the guide back across the bay.

We'll begin this adventure with a sail through the Grand Lagoon area to our own private playground area off of Shell Island. Once you arrive, you'll enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and an inflatable water park equipped with trampolines, water slides, seesaw ball and more on this 3 hour adventure cruise! At the end of the tour, we'll go looking for dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico. All activities and use of equipment are included. Additional snacks and beverages can be purchased as well. Food can be brought on to the catamaran, but no outside beverages are allowed.

The more time you spend on the water the higher chance you will have of seeing wildlife. Captain specializes in encouraging the Dolphin to jump behind the boat. Our Marco Island Sightseeing and Shelling Tour departs from the Goodland Boat Park, in Goodland, FL. Join Coastal Kayak Charters for a small group guided kayak tour of the Shell Key Preserve. We are one of the few companies running kayak Tours to Shell Key. You begin with a relaxing boat ride to the island, where you begin your kayak adventure. Our trips offer more personalized service and better wildlife viewing opportunities while out on the water. We will explore hidden mangrove tunnels, shallow seagrass meadows, and stop on Shell Island for time to swim, look for shells, or just relax and enjoy the beach. Our tours are designed for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. We use stable user friendly kayaks that provide a great paddling experience. We primarily use double kayaks unless you have an odd number in your group. If you prefer single kayaks they are available through our website. Our Shell Island and dolphin tour is fun for families of all ages, the tour includes a stop at Shell Key preserve, a popular nature preserve known for numerous different types of shells. Snorkeling equipment is available for use at Shell Island. Please note that snorkeling at the Island is not always possible due to weather conditions. During the tour we will be looking out for wild dolphins, numerous dolphins inhabit the waters around the area. Our vessel is a US Coast Guard inspected vessel carrying up to 42 passengers. The vessel is easy to board both at our dock and the beach. The boat also offers plenty of shade for those trying to stay out of the sun and it is also equipped with a restroom. Please arrive at our location no LATER THAN 1.15pm

Our three-hour tour starts with a slow 45-minute dolphin-watching cruise along the intercoastal waterways in St. Pete amidst the multi-million dollar waterfront homes en route to one of our favorite local shelling islands in Florida. Once stopped at either Shell Island, guests will have up to an hour and a half to go ashore and enjoy the day the locals’ way swimming and exploring at one of these pristine shelling destinations! Our boat has plenty of shade for those who aren’t quite as adventurous, so feel free to stay aboard, pick the crew’s brain on the local St. Pete area, take in the coastal views, or enjoy the satellite TV featuring your favorite game! Upon departing the St. Pete shelling islands, we will have an opportunity to once again search for dolphins along the 45-minute intercoastal route back to the marina.

Capt. Yak is Veteran owned. You will be taken on an Amazing Adventure in a one-of-a-kind Mangrove Preserve. Capt. Yak (Greg) has been exploring Florida waterways for many years and you will be mesmerized by his knowledge. You will be lead through the preserve to areas that will be sure to find unique creatures that live below and above the water. You will paddle with ease on the some of the newest, most comfortable and best paddling Sit-On-Top Single or Tandem Kayaks. We will venture through mangrove tunnels, over beds of seagrasses and sandbars while encountering wildlife. Departure time 9:30am This tour is especially popular for family groups!

Not only will you be introduced to the great birding and wildlife in the area by your naturalists guide, you will also learn about the eco-systems, it rich heritage and long history. Our tours are never "canned", so each tour is different. The area's wildlife move around in order to exist in their world and so must we. Many species are seasonal and inhabit different areas in different environmental conditions, so too, we must be able to adapt. Bring your cameras, binoculars, snacks, favorite drinks, hats, sunglasses and have a great time!! Visit an uninhabited barrier island beach to collect shells, sand dollars and other treasures! Note: June through October, we suggest the morning experiences due to the weather.

Sunset Tour: Enjoy a picturesque sunset before darkness falls & Watch the sunset from the beautiful beach on Shell Key. As night falls, your LED lights will illuminate more of the water around you, the stars will come out, and the experience will be transformed into a nighttime kayaking adventure. Fish become quite active at dusk and start jumping out of the water. Glow Tour: Adventure into the mangroves. Light up the water below your 100% clear kayak as you paddle at night into the hidden mangrove tunnel, where you will experience the ambiance created by the soft color of the LED glow lights on the incredible overhead formation of the mangroves. You’ll hear fish jumping around you, see some sea grass below, and feel the relaxing ocean air while paddling through the preserve. This tour is for people who are adventurous! Due to the night time nature of the tour, there may be some surprise visits from wildlife.
