In Japan, it is said that less than 5% of people can wear kimono now days. Because it is difficult to wear a kimono by yourself. The problem with vintage kimonos is that Japanese people in the past were small, so the size of kimonos is small. Usually, when wearing a kimono, the part called "Ohashiyori" is folded. By making kimono into two pieces, the folding part has been eliminated and improved so that even tall people can wear vintage kimonos. Kimonos are generally handmade and made of silk, so they are expensive and cannot be purchased affordably. Some of our kimonos are gorgeous and have fine detail which normally cost like thousands of dollars. But with the use of vintage, they are affordable for everyone. Our extra cost for kimono is very easy to distinguish. If you decide to go with no extra charge, you can choose a basic kimono. Why do you make your own kimono? By making the kimono into a two-part style, ANYONE can easily wear a kimono.

Um tradicional vinho do Porto será servido durante o intervalo para completar a noite e será oferecido um postal ilustrado, contendo alguma explicação sobre a essência do Fado. At the Kyoto Shibori Museum, this traditional Japanese craft class shows you how to dye a 46cm x 180 cm silk georgette scarf using the Kyo-arashi shibori method. You'll end up with a beautiful silk scarf to serve as a souvenir of your trip to Kyoto. Classes are usually individual and take 30 minutes to 60 minutes per class. Start by choosing your favorite color and learning how to fold your fabric in a particular way. Wrap a tube with the folded fabric and wind a string around it. Squish the fabric down to the bottom of the tube and dye it. While your fabric is drying (about 30 minutes), you'll learn more about shibori. Browse art pieces, tools, and samples displayed in the museum. The museum shop also sells a variety of shibori items, souvenirs, fabrics, and more.

Mizuhiki is a decorative string used on the front of congratulatory and non-gratulatory envelopes, and is a decorative string material mainly used for yunoshin, gift covers, and New Year's decorations. The beauty and delicacy of its curved lines are unique to Japanese culture, and there are details and deep meanings behind the way it is tied and the number of knots, with different types used for different occasions. These days, mizuhiki is used for a wide variety of purposes, including decorative items, accessories, and interior decorations. Mizuhiki is also recommended for presentment, as it has the meaning of bringing people together, since it is made by pulling a string and tying it together. It is also light and small, making it an ideal souvenir for travel. We will deliver valuable time that can only be experienced in Japan to tourists visiting Japan.

In this class you will learn the the basics of creating amazing fused glass pieces while also make a beautiful necklace all your own! Experience cutting glass into different shapes, layering different types of glass, and firing your unique piece. You will also get to design and string a custom beaded necklace using our a huge variety of beads that your finished fused glass pendant will prominently display on. Due to the firing process, you will not be able to take your finished pieces home right away. Classes that are available for booking at 11:00 can be pick up their finished necklaces at the end of the day (7:00 in the summer season) and classes that are available for booking at later times will need to be picked up the next day. If it will not work for you to pick up your pieces the next day, we can ship your finished piece to you for a small fee ($5.00)

In the workshop, participants will make their own original notebooks using Japanese traditional crafts "Washi" and "Mizuhiki". The following experiences are available ・Washi Notebook Making Experience: Choose your favorite Washi paper and make an A6(105 x 148.5 mm / 4.1 x 5.8 inches). size notebook with a cover. The finished size is 120 x 170 mm (4.8 x 6.7 inches) . ・Mizuhiki knotting experience: Make a notebook belt and bookmark while learning the 3 knots. Mizuhiki is a traditional paper string that has been used for about 680 years. This is still an essential part of the wedding and funeral ceremonies in Japan today. Guided by expert instructors, you’ll create beautiful and meaningful keepsakes, choosing from a vibrant array of colors and designs.
