Group Lessons offer: One instructor shared by two or three students. Allows for close communication between student and instructor but, at times, the student must wait their turn to catch a wave. Beginners receive a 15 minutes theory, safety and practice in the sand, before getting in the water, the other levels go directly to the ocean after a short evaluation. Lessons are divided in two sessions and in the half time break we provide coconut or purified water and some fruit. Round-trip transportation is included.

Porto Surf School offers surf lessons for people between 6 and 66 years and for all levels. Our surf instructors accommodate to your individual abilities and provide a learn safe healthy environment. Together with you they will try to build up your surfing technique, improve it and bring it to perfection. Our surf days include 3h surf lesson. Every day we start with our surf vans in the center of Porto to go with you to the beach. We will search for the spot with the best conditions for you to find the best waves in a beautiful environment.

All Catman Surf School lessons start on the sand with ocean awareness and safety. We’ll go over the basics on how to position yourself on the board, paddling, and how to pop up. Afterwards, we’ll transition to the surf, followed by your first go at small white water waves. Your safety always come first, and Sergio will be by your side every step of the way. The basic course is aimed at all those who have never tried before and at the same time for those who have already had a very short experience of a few days and want to improve the bases necessary to move to the next level. The requirements are: being in good general health, knowing how to swim and a minimum age of 6 years. The aim of the course is to surf the first foam waves independently and safely and to learn basic theoretical and practical knowledge such as positioning on the board, paddling, take-off, weather-marine knowledge, how to overcome the waves, how to spin on foams, weight management and more! Within this course, we follow small groups of up to 6 students for each instructor so that all students can be followed with the utmost care and in complete safety. The course lasts about 4 hours, including transport times, and the practical part in the water will be about 1.5 / 2 hours.
