Get kitted out with skis, poles, and boots and enjoy some snacks and warm drinks. Set out on a scenic loop where you’ll learn the essential techniques of cross-country skiing. Along the way, practice balance, gliding, and uphill movement, as well as test your skills on gentle downhill sections. The tour starts with a brief introduction. Then we will drive west, across to the island Kvaløya. We get a view of the Island of Tromsø from afar, and maybe we see some animals. We cross back into Tromsøya and we make a stop at the beach Telegrafbukta. After that we will drive through the city centre talking about the city and its history. We continue driving across the Tromsø bridge to the neighbourhood of Tromsdalen. We will make a stop at the Arctic Cathedral, one of the most emblematic buildings of Tromsø. To finish we will head to the base of the Cable Car (Fjellheisen) to go up to the upper station. Here we can enjoy the most spectacular view of the island of Tromsø and the group of islands behind it. In all our tours we accept wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility. We also are prepared to guide people with visual or hearing impairments. And we always work on creating a comfortable experience for neurodivergent people as well.

Get to know the history Tromsø as the world's northernmost brewery hub and become acquainted with the flavours of the North. We will visit Tromsø's historical city centre, two pubs and a micro brewery, and sample 10 locally produced beers and Arctic tapas in traditional, cosy settings, which are closely interlinked with the maritime history of Tromsø. On the way we get a chance to see a selection of the most important sights our city has to offer, such as the world's northernmost cathedrals, traditional wooden houses, and another local microbrewery. We will even encounter the spot with the highest density of attractions in all of Tromsø! The final stop of our tour will be a traditional local pub, whose atmosphere reflects the maritime heritage of our city. There we are invited to taste the last batch of in total 10 products from Arctic craft breweries, together with a selection of Arctic tapas.

In the company of your own guide, you can explore the city by foot on this unique walking tour. The tour is organized with 3 hours duration. On this tour we take you on a walk around the small city centre of Tromsø that has been founded in 1795 on the island of Tromsøya and its surrounding. The city has, also called the Gateway to the Arctic, been throughout history the start for several Polar Expedition. Tromsø has long been an important base for many polar expeditions, and the Polar Museum exhibits and presents this polar seafaring tradition. After the visit at the Polar Museum, we will go to Full Steam where we will visit the exhibitions about the Maritime and Fisheries history as well as Sea Sami culture and history. The walk continues through the “Storgata” towards the Framsenter (the main building in Tromsø for research in the arctic). We will walk next to Ølhallen, Tromsøs oldest pub which used to be a popular place to stay for fishermen and explorers.

After a briefing on the weather and route, we’ll head out in search of the Northern Lights. The guide will share insights about the Aurora, local wildlife, and history. We monitor the forecast to find the best location, even if it means heading to Finland. At the viewing spot, enjoy hot drinks, snacks, and, if possible, a bonfire (weather-dependent). Thermal suits are available to keep you warm. Your guide will take professional photos of you with the Northern Lights. Photos are uploaded the next day with a watermark (removed upon purchase). After the tour, we’ll drop you off at Tromsdalen, Reinen, Tromsø Island, or Kvaløysletta. If your accommodation is elsewhere, we'll help arrange a taxi.

And we will drive across the valley of Kattdfjordeidet. There will be short stops to take photos and experiment nature. Sometimes we can see reindeer and other animals roaming free. The destination is Sommarøy, “the Summer Island”. There we will enjoy a warm 2-couse lunch (soup + desert) inside the Sommarøy Arctic Hotel. To return we will take the road on the south-east coast of Kvaløya. During this ride we can enjoy the views of the Sund and the mountains of Malangen. Along the way, we look for animal tracks, as lynx, wolverines, eagles, and hares roam nearby. At the shelter, we gather around a crackling bonfire, enjoying warm drinks and tasty food cooked over the flames. You can even try making traditional Norwegian campfire bread. If the sky is clear, you’ll have the chance to witness the northern lights dancing above, creating an unforgettable Arctic experience. The scenic drive along the fjord makes a perfect beginning of the tour. At the destination our guide leads you to one of the summits on Kvaløya island or on the mainland. Relish the feeling of crunching over, rather than sinking into, the pristine snow. Great views over majestic mountains and fjords are the reward for the effort – we hike around 400 meters elevation to reach the top. Therefore the trip requires you to be used to physical activity, but previous snowshoeing experience is not required. Wearing proper winter boots and warm clothes is a must on this tour.  We take good time for breaks to take photos, learn about the local nature and culture, and savor a hot drink and snack on route.
