Begin your adventure at the stunning Walvis Bay Lagoon, home to flocks of flamingos and diverse coastal birds. Take in the beautiful scenery and snap some memorable photos. Next, we’ll visit the Walvis Bay Salt Works, famous for its industrial salt production and vibrant pink lakes caused by microorganisms. This unique landscape is ideal for photography. Enjoy a scenic drive along the sandy beach with ocean views on one side and the Namib Naukluft dunes on the other. This route showcases the stark beauty of the Namib Desert. If weather permits, we’ll head to Sandwich Harbour Lagoon, a RAMSAR site. If high tides restrict direct access, you can still admire the lagoon from lookout points and enjoy a leisurely stroll. After exploring, relax at a picturesque spot while enjoying snacks and beverages, all with stunning landscape views. On the return journey, get ready for an exhilarating 4×4 ride over high dunes, followed by a relaxing cruise back along the beach.

This is an exciting and interesting shore excursion starting and ending in the port of Walvis Bay. We explore Walvis Bay town and visit the famous wetlands south of Walvis Bay which teams with thousands of flamingos and numerous other shore and seabirds. Afterwards we visit some of the highest dunes in this coastal area. We continue into the Namib Desert and marvel at the so called "moonscape", a rugged and rocky scenery reminding us of the surface of the moon. Our next destination is an oasis in the Swakop Canyon, a former farm which has now been turned into a pleasant resort with a restaurant in the middle of the "Moonscape". Afterwards we return to the coast and visit the historical town of Swakopmund which was founded in 1892 by the German Colonial Reich. Your guide will relate the history of Swakopmund and explain the distinct colonial character and origin of the various historical builidngs. We return to Walvis Bay port in the afternoon.

All other companies want you to use or find your own transport to Walvisbay and Pelican Point, we include transport and we will pick you up and drop you off at any accommodation along the coast. We include a light lunch and local drinks. We use new modern unsinkable Kayaks easy for anybody to use and that do not capsize. Everybody gets a life jacket and the guide will coach you on the use of the Kayak. No previous experience required. Its a must do for the active traveler. Pelican Point is a great place to see marine life in Walvis Bay—a colony of thousands of Cape Fur seals makes its home there year-round. This tour takes you along the lagoon and salt mines to the point in a 4×4 vehicle and provides the kayaking know-how to cruise the protected part of the peninsula near the colony.
