This unique kayak and snorkel trip takes place in the crystal-clear waters of the Virgin Islands National Park. Our professional guide will instruct you in the basics of kayaking on the beach in Cruz Bay. Next, we paddle to uncrowded Scott Beach, which is one of the prettiest white-sand beaches on the island. There, we will snorkel with sea turtles and stingrays! You'll learn about the endangered green turtles that feed on the seagrass and nest on the beach. In the summer and fall, the turtles lay their eggs in the sand on this beach and we often see their nests. After snorkeling here and enjoying the beach, we'll paddle back to Cruz Bay.

Turtles always lay their eggs on the same beach, which is also the same where they were born, which makes the experience even more special. Depending on the time the guides, who will do everything possible to see turtles, will take them in case of arrival to the Ostional refuge or a fairly popular option is the Corozalito refuge where there are no arrivals, but you have good opportunities to see turtles in less quantity and even newborns.

Tortuguero is one of the most important nesting sites for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles in the Caribbean during the months of July to October. During the night at high tide, the females come to lay their eggs. This is a unique experience that will provide priceless memories. Our Naturalist Guide will share learned secrets and expertise about this marine species and its history in Tortuguero, in a totally natural environment with profound respect for nature. The tour always takes place even if it rains, it cannot be postponed for another day. It's important to understand that the chances of having the opportunity to observe a sea turtle in its natural habitat are high, but the possibility of not seeing one exists. Therefore, please take this opportunity as a gift from Mother Nature. Recommended attire: Wear dark clothes, closed-toe shoes or hiking shoes, rainjacket, insect repellent and reusable water bottle. In this excursion, you can see the whole process of turtle nesting since they come out from the sea until the lay between 80 to 120 eggs per nest. The excursion starts in Corozalito beach Wild Life Refuge, about 40 minutes from Samara. You take a van in Samara around 6:00pm, once in Corozalito, a little hike on the beach looking for turtle is necessary due to turtles come from the big sea to lay eggs on any place of the beach. When turtle come out, is time to see the nesting process: turtles come out from water, look for place to nest, start to dig in the sand, lay around 80 to 120 eggs, cover the hole, finally go again to the sea. The turtle nesting process takes around 30 to 60 minutes. Drinks and snacks are included after excursion.
