Exclusive Vinho Verde (Green Wine) experience & lunch

Hello, I’m Hugo, and I want to share my passion for the Vinho Verde region. The Terras de Basto are a hidden treasure with so much left to uncover. Its roots go back to prehistoric settlements and occupations, inhabited by people of a combative nature, hardworking, and with a strong sense of ownership. It’s the ideal place to understand the origins of Vinho Verde, which, although it became more widely known in the last 50 years, reflects centuries of local inspiration and knowledge. The Vinho Verde territory is very familiar to me, and over time, I’ve formed many friendships with local producers. Therefore, I can confidently say that this experience is a journey to a memorable day, departing from Porto to the Terras de Basto, a region that is still largely unexplored and incredibly natural. Along the way, we’ll take a coffee break in the town of Amarante, a historical gem of this area, with a very authentic atmosphere. Then we’ll visit two family-run estates withcellars where we’re always welcomed like friends. There, you can taste grape varieties that only exist in this region, like Azal or Padeiro, or even learn that there are red Vinho Verdes like Vinhão. Can you imagine? After the first wine tasting, as an appetizer, a delicious lunch will be served in a well-preserved setting, with traditional food, accompanied by unfiltered, homemade Vinho Verde – something unique! During the visits and tastings, we’re always treated to stunning views of Monte Farinha or Sra. da Graça, right in front of us. After an exciting and very most enjoyable day, it’s time to calmly return to Porto. Of all the experiences I’ve been promoting over the years, this is the one I most enjoy sharing with visitors because I always get a feedback sense of true surprise and satisfaction. Are you ready to discover it?
