Your 2-hour tour to the emblematic monuments of this part of the town will be guided by a former university student or a European volunteer (European Voluntary Service – part of the European Union's Erasmus+ programme) integrated in this project, developed at the University of Madeira. This will be a university project with a side that will most certainly fascinate you.

You’ll ascend to the island’s third-highest mountain, Pico de Arieiro, which affords stunning island views. The next stop is Ribeiro Frio, the starting point of a famous levada (irrigation channel) walk, where you’ll marvel at trout pools and learn about the prehistoric forest that covers Madeira. Following lunch in the colorful town of Santana, you’ll visit more incredible lookout points such as Ponta de São Lourenço, and stop off at Machico before drop-off at your Funchal accommodation.

The Valley of Rabaçal is one mother nature's greatest masterpieces. Descending from the plateau of Paul da Serra, we arrive at the Rabaçal guesthouse and from there we walk to the Risco waterfall. We then continue downwards towards the levada das 25 Fontes until reaching a small lake. This lake is located at the bottom of a cliff from where 25 natural springs cascade into the small lake. We shall return through a different path passing through a tunnel that carries water to the south side of the island.

Rabaçal is an unique and magical place full of waterfalls and fountains. This levada walk is the most famous and beautiful in Madeira. This experience will start with about 3 hours walk including 800 mts through a volcanic rock tunnel leading us to an evergreen forest providing beautiful landscapes. On this hike, we will have the opportunity to admire beautiful waterfalls, natural spring water and its endemic species of fauna and flora. After this great walk, we will have a lunch break (not included) in a Madeiran restaurant at Paúl da Serra, the biggest plateau of the island about 1400 mts high with stunning views. Later, we go downhill through a fantastic off-road expedition, where you will enjoy the fragrance of the exotic eucalyptus forest. Continuing, we go to Cabo Girão with the highest sea cliff of Europe at 580 mts, known by its suspended glass floor viewpoint which offers a spectacular panoramic view over the Atlantic Ocean and Câmara de Lobos Bay. On this tour, we will take you through Peaceful and beautiful villages by the sea will take you on a wonderful journey. The villages of Ponta do Sol, Madalena do Mar and Paúl do Mar are very well known for its large production of sugar cane, banana. We then continue our trip to Ponta do Pargo, you are able to admire one of the most emblematic lighthouse situated further west of island. Ponta do Pargo is also where we will have our lunch break stop, various snack bars, restaurants or coffee shops will be given as choice for lunch. In Calheta village you will find one of the two man-made golden sandy beaches that Madeira has to offer.
