Our whale watching tour focuses on Minke Whales, Humpback Whales, Orca Killer Whales, and other marine wildlife such as porpoises, dolphins and other species. Please note Since this is a wildlife tour we can never predict or guarantee sightings of any kind. If there are no sightings on the tour, we do not offer refunds but instead, we offer our passengers a free return to join our tour depending on availability, valid for up to three years. Weather is a big factor for the tour, we may have to cancel the tour due to unfavorable weather conditions. We will notify you via email in the event of a cancellation.

Whale Watching Hauganes is the oldest whale watching tour operator in Iceland. We operate two classic Icelandic oak boats that are both spacious and extremely stable here in the still fjord of Eyjafjörður which is well sheltered from the open North Atlantic Ocean. We classify our tours as "slow travel" as you will get the chance of enjoying the beautiful landscape of the fjord along with its wildlife while not feeling in a rush or that you are interrupting the wildlife in any way. Our tours are carbon neutral as we plant one tree for each tour along with blending the oil with bio-diesel made in Akureyri (the capital of North Iceland, just 25 minutes south from us) from frying oils from local restaurants. You will find a restaurant here as well, a campsite, hot tubs down by the black beach of Sandvik and the famous beer-spa here just 5 minutes north from us. The experience of watching 40 foot (12 meter) whales from a 24 foot (7 meter) Zodiac raft is something you'll never forget! Following Hawaiian Marine Park laws of stopping at least 100 yards (90 meters) away from these magnificent animals, you get a close up look at the migrating humpback whales. It is not uncommon for them to be curious about the raft and come right under the boat!

This magnificent combo tour unites some of the most popular winter attractions in Iceland! You start the day with a 3 hr. whale watching tour at 09:00/13:00 with departure from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík. The most common species seen in Faxaflói bay in winter are the minke whales, dolphins, porpoises and humpback whales. The views and landscape on the horizon are not to be missed as they are astonishing in the winter glow! In between the two activities, you will have several hours of free time in the city. We recommend exploring the charming Old Harbour and Grandi areas, filled with cozy restaurants and small shops. The 2 hr. magical evening cruise departs at 21:00/22:00 (depending on the season), taking you into the Southern part of Faxaflói bay, a bit further away from the city. Heading out into the open bay under the vast starry sky is a wonderful experience and the northern lights are something you don't want to miss out on your trip to Iceland!

Fireflies are familiar, but few realize that these insects are actually beetles, nocturnal members of the family  Lampyridae. Most fireflies are winged, which distinguishes them from other luminescent insects of the same family, commonly known as glowworms. Experience the glow and the very interesting row of the boat us to embark on a private firefly watching cruise in Bohol, it will took like 2 to 4 hours experience in the fireflies area. (And enjoy a fresh,Organic dinner at the Bohol Bee Farm for select packages only). Relax and see the fireflies glow in the dark while cruising along mangroves of the River. You may see five or more trees that is being inhabited by the Fireflies.  Dont forget to bring your camera and make sure it is good in the dark shots.
