This Wildlife Rescue Center and Wildlife Hospital is Asia's biggest and known from International TV channels, with tigers, bears, elephants and much more.

This is an educational tour at a Wildlife Rescue Center located close to La Fortuna. It is a great chance for you to see wild animals, visit their enclosures, learn about the conservation efforts and have fun. It is a perfect, family friendly activity for all.

Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center offers visitors beautiful natural landscape, with tropical gardens. During the visit you will see and learn about a number of animal species that have been rescued and for diverse reasons cannot be released for reintegration into their habitat. This is an amazing educational experience for anyone in love with nature! At an additional cost, you can enjoy a guided tour (by reservation only), rental carts for children, souvenir and coffee shop, ice cream parlor, and a delicious restaurant with a variety of dishes. Did you know that Costa Rica has eliminated its zoos? And, by that, Costa Rican law means that animals cannot be captured and/or kept purely for our viewing pleasure. In practice, of course, many wildlife rescues allow visitors to view wild animals – but this purpose is secondary. The animals you see in Costa Rica’s refuges and rescues are just that: rescued. That is the primary and most important purpose of any rescue center. These animals were injured, kept as pets, or orphaned, and must now be rehabilitated, hopefully for release back into the wild. They will not live at the rescue center forever, unless they are incapable of surviving in the wild. And that’s one of the things we love about Las Pumas: the enclosures are spacious and clean, mimicking the animals’ natural environment. If they can live in the wild again, they’ll feel right at home.

The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is the biggest Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak; established in 1975 as a sanctuary for the injured and orphaned orangutans. The Day Tour to the Asis wild animal rescue center outside of La Fortuna, is a great way to learn about wildlife protection and see Costa Rican animals up close.The tour begins with an explanation of the importance of the center’s goal of preserving wildlife populations in the face of illegal hunting and natural habitat destruction. Asis works with non-profit organizations, goverment entities and environmental agencies to save animals, return them to the forest when possible, and educate visitors about multiple species in danger of extinction and other topics related to their welfare. The Asis tour with volunteering provides the opportunity for visitors to not only see the facilities and wild animals but to assist in the rehabilitation process. You will learn about the center’s dedication to the protection of the incredible diversity of life in the Costa Rican ecosystems and the mission to save wild animals and reintroduce them into their natural habitat.

Come relax and unwind for an hour with the fuzzy, loving rescued cats of Cat Therapy! We foster cats rescued by the local shelter in a comfortable, home-like environment. While they wait to be adopted, guests can visit them, helping us socialize the kitties. Entry fees support our mission of finding homes for rescued cats. This trip combines two activities: a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center and a visit to Punta Uvas sightseeing point. The Jaguar Rescue Center rehabilitates mistreated, injured and/or confiscated animals, which are then reintroduced to their natural habitat in protected areas. Visit us just outside Iquitos city and get ready to know the most noble specie of the amazon, The Amazonian Manatee. We rescue, recovery and release endangered wildlife with the support of our educational program that aims to raise awareness between tourist and locals. Each visit lasts approximately an hour. In addition, during your tour, one of our guide will teach you everything you should know about the rehabilitation process. This experience is like no other! Enjoy a private brunch in the company of mini rescue burros on a ranch with hundreds of miles of untouched land behind you and beautiful views of Mt San Jacinto in front of you. You will arrive at our ranch and will be greeted by ranch mama Heather. Your brunch will be set up for you upon arrival and you will get to interact with the mini burros and enjoy your brunch in the beautiful surroundings. Our setup includes rattan floor chairs, a picnic blanket, custom picnic basket for six, a custom made picnic table with the cutest Business & Pleasure umbrella and a vintage Jai Alai game to play. You can hang out for the morning or afternoon for up to three hours. There is lots of hiking trails in the back that you can also take advantage of.

See native aquatic species like the giant Arapaima gigas fish, Aligators, and Piranhas. Then go on a jungle hike with scenic vistas and a 300-year-old Lupuna tree. Then visit a wildlife rescue center where threatened animals are rescued and rehabilitated and released.

After a tour of the sanctuary you will take a walk with the donkeys, enjoying the company of these amazing creatures as well as experiencing the beautiful countryside surrounding the sanctuary. Surrounded by beautiful wildlife and olive trees, you will find it hard to believe that you are just 5 minute drive from the beach, except that for the most part you will have an enticing view of the sea, when you are not gazing into the loving eyes of the donkeys.
