Itinerary
Join us to explore all this wonderful combination of wildlife along Río Frío, which fulfills about 800 hectares (1976.8 acres), of wetlands within a 10.000 hectares (24710.54 acres), of National Protected Refuge. This 3 hours Pantoon boat ride along the refuge waterways is the ideal experience for photography lovers because this is a unique ecosystem where, through our local experts’ nature skills, visitors will have a respectful close experience plenty of a variety of amazing birds, three species of monkeys, sloths, reptiles such as Iguanas, alligators, Jesus Christ Lizards, turtles and much more.
The wetlands’ designation of international importance is granted due to their biological richness and above all serves as a refuge for a significant number of seasonal migratory and local resident wildlife species.
Declared in Dec. 1991 by the Ramsar Convention, as an international site dedicated to the conservation and rational use of wetlands worldwide.
