Playas del Coco Trip Overview

What to Expect When Visiting Playas del Coco, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Discovering Cortes Falls is a bit like entering paradise. Covering an area around 15 meters high by 15 meters wide, the waterfall is considered among the most spectacular in Costa Rica.
You’ll get to go behind the water curtain that separates the falls from a wonderful sandy beach and mini-cavern. In addition, you can climb the waterfall mountain to observe the site from the top of the falls. This spectacular place is often visited by howler monkeys and white face monkeys.
The 5-hour tour starts at 9am with pickup from your hotel, followed by a 1-hour drive to the Cortes Waterfall. Along the way you’ll see famous sites like Guanacaste’s Volcanos, Rincon de la Vieja, Miravalles and Tenorio.
Once you arrive, there will be a short 6-minute walk to reach the falls. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the trails surrounding the falls and, of course, to take a long swim! Later, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant.
